I would say google alerts is one of my favourites at the moment, very useful for finding sites where my site is mentioned and also keep track of competitors and other sites within my niche.

I've been looking for something like this for ages..

but I got stuck with phplist which i've been struggling to set up with my limited technical knowledge.

any idea how this compares to paid autoresponders?

Holy cow. don't fall into that. I used that for years and then the database got corrupted. I finally got the list from the database, but just try using that list with anyone of the major smart autoresponder systems....

I pay for getresponse. But I've been using Mailchimp for some of my clients and it's free for lists upto 2000 (damn I wish I was allowed to put my affiliate link in here:rolleyes: ) But, I actually like it better and you can upload the data from your existing lists (just don't violate fed. law in the process)

I'm still using getresponse (cause I'm a little scared to fully switch until I've tested and tested). But so far. I think mailchimp is actually better and there are even plug ins for wordpress, sep. sign up pages if you want, etc.

Probably just made the mailchimp folks happy... but it's the truth.

    You can also use Freeautobot.com
They are much like Listwire, the only difference you don't get a add below you opt-in box like Listwire.

Has anyone used freeautobot? It also looks interesting but the site isn't a professional looking as ListWire in my opinion. If it's working for anyone on the Warrior Forum, can you reply with how you like it? Thanks

I've used freeautobot in the past and I'm still using it for sites where I know I won't be keeping the list. Basically, mailchimp sucks and with listwire, if you unsubscribe from their daily emails the AR stops working as well.

THe freeautobot site does look crap, surely it's not too hard to do something about that but the service is OK. Never had a problem with it.

Not always perfect. I was in a similar post the other day and a poster was covertly and shamelessly promoting his free service (free to affiliates). But the thing is... I actually really really liked it and signed up for the program and even started .it.

I want to make contact with the guy, but i can't find the darn thread and I didn't post to it, so it's not favorited.

I'm already an affiliate, but his name is not on the site. Anyway.. searches aren't always perfect.

I checked out the video at LIstWire and it all sounds pretty great but I wonder if they might fold and leave me listless...? How long can a FREE autoresponder service survive? Someone has to pay for bandwidth, overhead, etc. I always worry that if it sounds too good to be true...well you know the rest.

Okay, I just signed up with MailChimp...sorry about the affiliate commission, lol. It looks like it will be the best choice for me because I only have about 750 on my list at this time and the pricing is very fair for when I get a larger list. Thanks,

Thanks for all the cool sites. So Listwire puts an ad below your opt-in box? Are there any drawbacks to Freeautobot.com?

They automatically include an unsubscribe link at the bottom of every email, but thats fine, the problem is it also says there that you're using freeautobot.com, but if you want a free autoresponder without anyone knowing it, buy software and host it yourself, though you will have to deal with any spam complaints.
