Real Address with Aweber?

Do you use your real address when using an autoresponder? Or do you just make up an address? I'm not sure if I want people knowing my physical address.

    Michael,

Don't make up a fake address. If you get caught at that, it will cost you a suspension at the least, and possibly lose you your account.

That said, any legitimate postal address where mail sent to you will end up delivered to you is acceptable. PO Box, etc. It does not have to be the address where you actually live.

I think aweber demands that you use a Spam act compliant address

I'm new to this and wasn't sure myself, but it seems they wanted some kind of address in order to move on to the next set-up page.

I didn't want to put my address up there either so I just put Aweber's.

If you want/need to be in compliance with the CAN-SPAM act (and the ToS of your mailing-list service provider), then you'll want to use a real address.

It doesn't have to be your real, physical home/business address. It can be a rented mailbox.

The solution you're looking for is to search Google for "mailbox rental" or "PO boxes" or something similar.

I had this same feeling and issue. I just went and got a PO Box a year for 30 bucks I believe.

Aweber will accept a PO Box just fine. Also when creating your emails if you hit the space bar a few times at the end of your copy it will push the op-out and your address down the page abit.

Some people push it way way down and I'm not sure this is a best practices or even in line with the Aweber ToS but I don't see harm in a little ways down the page lol

    Hope that helps ya
