Default Microsoft release Internet Explorer patch with critical rating!

Hi everyone.

Thought it may be worth posting this as it's causing a big stir in the Corporate world.

Make sure your Windows patching is up to date.

Here's the link to the MS security bulletin:

Microsoft Security Bulletin MS08-078 - Critical: Security Update for Internet Explorer (960714)

Tim

I've just updated and my MPEG 4 codec has disappeared. Did this happen to you?

Hi Martin.

My MPEG4 codec still seems to be working fine.

Not sure why that has happened to you.

You know that's interesting. Notice it says IE 6 and IE 6 SP1? I have SP2 so
I wonder if mine is okay?

In either case, I hardly use IE anymore. Only for 2 sites that don't work well
in Firefox and I know they're both safe. Heck, one of them is Aweber LOL.

Still, I wonder if I need this patch since SP2 wasn't mentioned.

You're right Steven, it doesn't mention it, but to be on the safe side I would run Windows Update anyway as it will then install it if it needs to.

Regards.
