Click through and conversion ratios?

Can someone tell me some realistic numbers to expect as far as click through's and conversions when dealing with organic search for the top three spots?

If a keyword gets 7,000 searches and is pretty targeted how many conversions would you expect? I know this is pretty vague but I'm looking for some ball park figures. Thanks.

Conversions of what, to what?!

No disrespect, but "pretty vague" is one of the most heavy-duty understatements we've had on the board for a long time ... :p

    Impossible with so little information.

I suspect you're being vague for your own good reasons. But that's not always
helpful if you want others to help you.

You can have 7000 searches on a non-buying keyword and very well could get
no conversions for anything at all.

You didn't say anything about the market, which is fine, but we can only presume
your market spends money on things. Are you sure they do?

You see, there are too many variables and unknowns.

Really Alexa, is a conversion really that unknown to you? A conversion has long been known to be when someone clicks through your link and does a desired action such as purchase something or enter an email or something. If you don't want to post something useful then why waste your time posting anything?

Ken, thanks for trying to help. I'm not asking for specific numbers on any of my keywords, but was curious to see what other marketers guidelines might be if any.

When you see a keyword gets such and such amount of searches a month, don't you try to determine how many of those searches you might be able to turn into sales? No percentages or anything?
