I'm curious to find out when you guys started to make money as internet marketers? Did you get into this from the beginning or you started with ptc's or other money making methods?

I started with paid to click ptc but after getting frustrated and not making a good amount of money after working two years with those ptc sites I turned myself into IM business and now I am making a amount of money which is not possible to make with ptc in 5 years.

The summer of 2009 I created a site that featured video clips and highlights of events in my local community. I had absolutely no idea what I was doing and even remember balking at the idea of SEO lol.

Regardless the site did well locally but I never gained traction for any keywords (because of the aforementioned mistake) so not very many tourists knew about the site. That was my main goal.

I made money by selling advertising on the site and I'll never forget receiving that first check from a local business.

That idea slowly died and I found forums like the WF and DP. I would ready endlessly till the wee hours of the night. I wanted to learn about this thing called internet marketing.

Fast forward to spring of 2010 and I was ready to take on an actual site and get it ranked for some keywords this time. Only problem was I bit off more than I could chew. The keyword was far from easy to rank and it was so frustrating, but I finally dug in and was determined to succeed. The site gave me my first Adsense check for a whopping $144 or something like that.

I don't think anybody "gets this" from the beginning. We all learn in our own way. For some it takes longer and for others it takes far less time. I just wish I knew what I do now back then!

You're going to fail. If you're afraid of failure then you do not belong in the Internet Marketing Business. Period.

  • Started learning around 1999 thanks to a banner I just happened to come across that linked to the Warriors (see below), started implementing in 2001, started making a little money by 2002, but didn't make enough to retire from the corporate world until 2007. Had I known what I know now, though, and believed and invested in myself more, it could have been much quicker.

Started about 6 months ago when my Cousin started buying ClickBank products. He still buys them, but he returns them if they don't deliver on their promises. He says he always learns something from each product.

I started about 4 years ago, young and determined.

I didn't make any money for the first 2 years but persistence and confidence led me to sustain myself for the next two years.

    Cheers,

Sounds like I'm the old dog around here. First website launched in January 1996 and six months later on the day my boss offered me a promotion, I resigned to pursue the website full-time. Never looked back.

I started three years ago really by mistake. I kept receiving cash gifting offers by e mail and I thought what a scam. But when I went To input info about program I accidentally came across articles about make money from home etc! One of the ways to make money from home was with CPA
I did further investigation and found it to be very lucrative even for newbies! I then went and applied to as many CPA companies as possible! I have been hooked on im ever since!

Started August 2010 via online network marketing. Got bored with that, switched to JV Launches and affiliate marketing. It has definitely been a fun ride. I love the fast paced aspect of it all - there is always something more to reach toward.

Started in 2006 originally. 5 years doesn't seem like a long time - but I was green as grass back then. It now feels like forever ago.

I believe in 07 was my first encounter with the Warrior Forum.

  • This is my 3rd crack at the game. Began in 2006, then again early last year (2010), and then at the end of last year. This time though I've now been at it for about 6 months and have realized that all you need is a little patience and persistence.

I'm really kicking myself for giving up so easily the first two times. If I had been doing this 2006 I would have a 100k a year business by now.

I got started during the good old days of PPC, when Google Adwords wasn't prohibitively expensive, and quality scores didn't even exist. I promoted a high ticket program and ended up making $400 in my first two weeks, and quickly followed that up with multiple sales.

That was it - I had caught the IM bug because of this, and as a result I continued with PPC and other forms of paid advertising. I've never looked back since then, and I'm truly thankful that my first experience with IM was so positive.
