Been an affiliate of Amazon for roughly 2 years now, but didn't really did much work into it... and no sales so kinda gave up on it..

So I've been reading around the forums for the past roughly a month, and kinda got interested back towards Amazon.

2 weeks ago.. I did a simple, I wouldn't actually call it a review site, since it didn't had that 300 - 1000 words criteria...
Mainly a few sentences here and there...

And the most amazing part was, on the first weekend, I've made 2 sales and recently just made a 3rd sale....

Well it ain't much to be boast about since the items I've listed are below the $100 price...

Now here's the question that's been going on in my head...

Is this a fluke? My site isn't even listed on first page yet for the keywords.
And I only had like 80+ visitors for the past 2 weeks (From the starting date till now) And 60+ of those click through to my Affiliate link and made 3 sales...

I kinda hate that feeling where, you know something isn't going right but it's going right.... whatever that is....

Man, sounds like you've got some skills there! haha, or either a really good product. It is possible if your "convincing skills" are good, although those figures are a bit unconvincing. Post a link to your site, I'd be interested to see how you promote your products. Should be able to give you a clear answer based on that

    travelshop dot thecheaptraveldeal dot com..

Well it's actually a branch off one of my traveling site that i've been working for nearly a year..

But statistics shows that... traffic coming in from the main site is less than 10... so i doubt the sales results were from there...

And since it's a subdomain i believe it works differently on the S.E.R.P.S
So I wouldn't really call it a 'perfect leech' of juice from the main site. Since indexing and all have to be done differently...

Ya... back to the Question... If these kinda blueprint works for Amazon Affiliates that's gonna take a whole workload off the writing... But I'm still guessing it's more of a fluke....

    Guess I'm a pessimist.

It could be a kind of fluke, but look at it this way - you have found a product that you know converts! I would run with that

Would love to run with that idea...
But the problem ... or the thought in my mind currently is..

If it's a fluke... should I stay in the same 'direction'? Would it be a waste of effort towards the end?

naa keep going with it the fact that you have already sold three is a good indicator. What you should work on now is seo and build it up both on page and offpage to get your site ranking on that particular keyword word or phase.

IM and pessimism don't go well together imho

You seem to find a product that converts mate. Why don't you just try to bring in some more traffic to test the waters a little bit more?

I can understand that after such frustration you are inclined to consider your sudden sales a fluke, but don't do that to yourself. You made sales, be happy and do some more.

Ya it's hard bringing those '2' together hahaha..

But I'm just amazed how fast sales would convert... assuming that I've been an affiliate with Amazon for 2 years with no sales... and only recently 3 sales *poof* out of nowhere.

"Devil is in the details" as they say Even the smallest change can turn things around mate. Maybe it's a fluke or maybe you hit some kind of jackpot. You never know unless you get more traffic for a proper test. So go on

Hi - Best way is to try and emulate exactly what you did before and see if you can 'fluke' it again. If you can, then it was no fluke, but a embryonic business model...

No fluke at all man. You're right, you're being pessimist.

That's my experience with Amazon as well, I have never not made money after putting Amazon links on a site... doesn't matter if the site was brand new, not ranking, not getting traffic, etc. Long tails are your best friend. If you've got Amazon easily accessible throughout your site, a large portion of your visitors (even if you have low traffic) WILL go on to Amazon.

The second they land on Amazon, they're in the ultimate conversion land, and very high chance they'll buy something. Usually, it won't be what they originally clicked on, but who cares.

Keep it up, build more pages, more websites (not junk), and you'll start to see more steady income.
