HELP!!! How Do I build a List

What kind of list are you talking about ? An EMail list?

Easy as 1,2,3

1. Locate a blank piece of paper and a pen or pencil.
2. Place the paper on a flat surface and place the pen/pencil in your writing hand.
3. Press the pointy end of the pen/pencil on the paper and begin writing down the items you want on your list.

Pretty darn simple huh.

Oh, you meant an email list? j/k

Hi I take it your referring to an email list. The first place I would start to build a list is through a facebook fan page. Why? Number 1 its free facebook dont charge any money to create a fan page. Number 2 with in fan pages there is a link in marketing tab called "send an update" this feature is just like you get in an autoresponder or email with subject and body to enter your text.

You can easily create fan pages without technical knowledge I recommend this one - http://bit.ly/FreeiFrameRevealTab They provide a free fan page you can generate through their app on facebook.

Once you start growing your fan page if you wanted to you could build a second list but through an autoresponder like getresponse or aweber. This is done placing your optin code on your fb landing page tab. Then your building 2 lists at same time one within facebook fan pages and other externally.

Not the quiestion you should be asking.

How do I build a targeted list and build a nice relationship with them.

Once you can answer that question, get cracking and build it. Its simple. But make sure you dont go in half cocked and you really want to help people.

Instead of crying for help, do a bit of research around this forum.

There are plenty of gold nuggets in and out of War Room.

All it takes is a bit of research.

While there is a TON of info on this, sometimes it can get lost in all the forum posts. Do your research. I would tell you it is not as simple as everyone states. It takes time. One of the things that helped me get a good start is to sign up for a JV Giveaway. But, to do this - you will need a product, a pretty decent one. I am surely no expert on this and still have no magical answer to this - but in the end it comes down to providing value - make people WANT to sign up (and stayed subscribed)

There are many different avenues to take when list building. Forum marketing is one, social media, articles, safelists, obviously squeeze pages are a must. Do you have a good one? And if so, how are you marketing it? Do you have autoresponder messages set for instant followup behind your optin message?
Right now this might not be your problem, the messaging, but it will be once you find your traffic source.
On your capture page, do you have a good free offer?
There are many questions I could ask, but if you want answers I would find a good list blueprint to follow then hammer away at it for about a month. After that time, if you have done things correctly you should see a steady stream of new subscribers coming into your list daily.

Make a squeeze page and then offer something valuable for free for the readers to enter their email addresses...

Hi...I am in the same boat as you and have not yet built a list but I am at the stage where I need to....so this is what I am going to do.

I am going to build a separate list for each of my different website niches- one at a time.

So first I will get things ready...like have an ebook or some kind of product that I can give away to people when they subscribe to my list.
(I will include affiliate links in this free product also so I can make money virally). I will put this ebook or whatever it is on a new page in my website ready for people to download and call it a thank you page but keep it invisible.

Then I will get my auto responder series content all ready to go- (that means writing good quality tips and advice for the niche and having it ready as a reply email) that lasts about 7 weeks or so at one or two emails per week.

Then I will join an autoresponder like aweber probably and bite the bullet for cost as it is something that is necessary and will be worth it.

Then I will follow the aweber instructions and create the list settings and get my auto email series ready to go etc..and also make the opt in form sign up squeeze page box thingy ..., have it direct those people who opt in to the product thank you page I created before.

Then I will paste the form code that I created in aweber into my website ...probably on several of the pages including the front page and write some sales talk around it like "Fill this form in to get your FREE blah..."

that's it! the list should start to build

As i haven't done this yet I may have left something out...please feel free to correct it....hope this is helpful to you or anyone else ....It is helpful for me to write down what I am going to do anyway...lol..but maybe I am missing something?
