If you are looking to install WordPress you can do so by loging to your control panel , use fantastico tool to install it..

I read your question and Googled "convert website to wordpress" the top result was from a site called CyberCoded, it had some pretty easy to understand instructions on converting your website to wordPress.

There is no technical way that you can transfer html site to worpress - you have to manually do it.

Instal the Wordpress
1. If you are having cPanel hosting provider then you can surely install wordpress with single click by visiting "fantastico" - if you not have cPanel then download wordpress zip and upload the files as mentioned in the readme file that comes in the wordpress zip.

2. Copy your article text and - login to your wordpress admin and click on post and post your article with heading.

its pretty easy...

If your existing site has a RSS feed then you can use the wordpress plugin feedwordpress to pipe in your content automatically from your feed.

Hi,

If you have a HTML website and want to reformat it into Wordpress take a look at "TURBO FLEX PRO THEME MASTER" - Do a search on Google.

I use this most of the time now and it works really well.

John King is the writer and the product has very detailed video's on how to use the programme - I think he will even send the help file video's up front before you buy.

In addition, to using cpanel and fantastico, per previous posters, you should consider getting any number of pre-built, templatized wordpress sites. This will make it easier to upload your content, simply by "cutting and pasting" from your html site to your new site. Consider using a template from Studiopress.com. We've using their terrific templates for a long time now. They're easy to use and very reasonably priced.

Yes, by that I meant taking an existing website and taking all the content and design and transfer it to a Wordpress. I read some info about it and know that is possible, but the step by step weren't clear enough for me.

What hosting provider are you using? Most have "toolboxes" or similar sections where they will do that type of installation for you.
