Recordkeeping is my downfall

Well, not my only downfall, as pointed out by my faultless record of no earnings over the past couple of years, but that's a subject for another post....

No, here is the problem I'm running into....
I've built a ton of sites over the years, (since around 1994, actually) and a few of them have been.....well.......lost. In many cases, they are subdomains located in subdirectories of my webhost. Landing pages in one directory with an incomprehensible name, linked to thank you pages on a completely different web host and a product delivery script....somewhere...

I recently looked through one of my notebooks and found several pages of setup data on a site that has been long forgotten by me, passwords, nameserver addresses, MySql databases, affiliate links, tracking links etc, etc, etc.

My question is this...given the sheer volume of need-to-know stuff associated with each and every site you create, does anyone out there have or know where I can get a spreadsheet template or some sort of script that will help me track where I put things?
I'm sure that I could create one, given enough time, but I hate to reinvent the wheel.

Anyone? ........Bueller? ..........Bueller?

For me, I have root access to my hosting account, so if I forget a password, I can easily reset it. Also, if I forget which server it is hosted, I can do a whois so get that info. I keep all my domains at one registrar, so it is easy for me to list all of them.

It is okay to contact me! I have been developing software since 1999, creating many popular products like phpLD.

Root access is key, but if you can't get that status i would suggest playing around a little with excel and just keep records of everything you create from now on thats what i did anyway.

I use my own custom built database app to track all my domains and niche blogs.

    Couldn't live without it.

Shouldn't be too hard to set up a spreadsheet to capture the relevant info though.
