hi and thx for your post. Do you mean you could have a great business without a list? If yes, how should the sales funnel work?

Squeeze pages have only two functions:

    > Capture the visitors' information (often just name and email).
    > Secure permission to use that information.

Alex Mandossian calls squeeze pages a "shy yes page", where you aren't trying to establish expertise or build huge amounts of trust.

All you are trying to do is get that visitor to take that first, low-risk, tentative step.

The answer to your poll question is 'other' - split test them all, and use what works best for the combination of your offer and niche.

  • Focus on getting the max amount of optins, and build trust on your thank-you page.

The time you start to look how successful competitors work, you will know the answer. For example, if you look at the IM niche, big gurus like Eben Pagan, Mike Filsame, Jeff Walker and Frank Kern use videos everywhere. Their is probably a good reason.

Look at your market and test. It's what a real marketer does.

For me, little bit of text and a video (no autoplay) with a good headline is the way to go.

Video every time for me. 2 to 3 minutes and no more otherwise people get bored. You need to hook them within the first two minutes.

Must use video, now when all companies go for Quick and short animated movies/videos...
i think that will be a smart move to place a video first max 3 min .

    Cheers

I'm very turned off by squeeze pages which have the " are you sure you want to leave" & "cancel to stay" thing when I try to leave. It's like wanting to leave a party and not being allowed to go out the door. Worst thing in the world as far as interaction on the web. If a product is good and the sell is clear why would this be needed?

I tend to go for squeeze pages with a clean look and video presentation. Appearance and attitude of the presenter is very important. He or she should be relaxed and project confidence in the product.

    That's my two cents.

Just to provide a quick tip, find/study the squeeze pages that you know are selling. Use this as your "swipe file" and create a template if you will of their squeeze page. I have alot of "swipe file" websites bookmarked and I take a little bit from each one to create my unique squeeze page.
