Default Newbie Question about Clickbank Vendors

Hi, All
love this forum - been reading hundreds of posts - think so many of you are brilliant and motivated. Inspires me!

1. I am researching a CB vendor for my website - and am acting as if I was a customer for starters, but have not purchased anything YET. So I simply signed up for the newsletter, and in about 5 days time have received just as many emails to buy the product. If I decide to affiliate his product - would I get the commissions from his newsletter campaigns that are selling the product, regardless of how long he sends the email newsletters, as long as I have him signed up as vendor on my site?

2. - Another similar product CB vendor that I am researching - not purchased anything yet, signed up for the newsletter, receiving almost daily emails about a _Completely different Product_ - and not one mention of the original product on the store -it goes to a whole new gig. The original product was an audio file for meditation, the newsletter gig is for ebooks on a totally different topic - "how to manifest your desires, attract what you want, ect" Would I as a vendor get commission on those ebooks? Sounds like a scam to me - if I don't. And it's not what I was promoting on my site, anyway.

Thanks much for any input!

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong but:

1) You will get the commission as long as the links in his emails don't specify a different affiliate or otherwise overide your cookie. The Clickbank cookie lasts 30 days.

2) You would not get the commission for the other product, UNLESS it is on the same publisher account (publisher ID).

A lot of affiliates avoid promoting products that have mailing list signups on the sales page. Unless you constantly monitor their newsletters, your really have no idea what they are doing with your referrals and your "potential" commissions.

Thanks, Jim - very clear.

Too bad there is such an extremely limited market on Clickbank for what I want, downloadable meditation audio files, - those are the only two vendors that have them that I have found so far.

Guess I could just hope for the sale the first time customer visits.

In the Clickbank marketplace, take a look at what the referraled % is for those two sites. The higher it is, the better the chance you will get the commission from the newsletter sales.
