Does anyone have any advice for marketing through amazon and how to make some decent money from it?

    Some Amazon products do better than others. Try duplicating this by making more sites with different Amazon products.

    Try creating a larger hub site and aim to have pages rank for different keywords. Also, sell more and more things for Amazon, by doing that you can increase your commission up to 15% I believe.

    Also, try to sell more expensive items to increase your commissions.

    Hope that helps,

    You have a choice with Amazon.

    Quality or Quantity. (A mix of both is best)

    Quality = High Price
    Quantity = Low Price

    Simple really, sell enough of the cheap items to get the commission up on the more expensive items.

    Shame Electronics only get 4%.

    More sites or more valuable products.

    Well done though.

    Just a personal opinion, RUN from Amazon, yeah it's a big company but their affiliate system isn't that great and their payouts are miniscule as you've experienced. Try clickbank, cj commisions, or some place like that offer better returns on your efforts.

    I have never tried Amazon affiliates before buy I've heard the payout is not that bad. My form of monetization is adsense for now and I'm going to create some websites from Amazon in the later part of Q4. Anyone can recommend any good ebooks for Amazon Affiliates?

    Personally, I go for products with a minimum price tag of around $50. I'd say my average is around $100. I _do_ have some sites selling cheaper products though, and in some cases the conversion rate can be quite extreme, making up for the low commissions. I have one tiny niche that converts at over 20%, and the small commissions add up quickly.

    I think lots of people see the 4-8% commission on Amazon, compare it to what you get on Clickbank, and run away. They fail to consider just how well Amazon can convert though, and how many opportunities there are to get traffic. Not saying Clickbank doesn't work, just that you can make a TON of money on both of them, it's just a matter of preference. The great thing about Amazon is the incredible trust they have built up. It's a great feeling to be able to recommend a truly reputable merchant (which isn't always the case with Clickbank).

    I do, however, think Amazon could make their affiliate program a lot more attractive in other ways, by being more responsive to the needs of their affiliates. Guess they don't really need us that much anymore though...

    When starting out, I also considered promoting Amazon products. But then I discovered other marketplaces like Clickbank etc. If you are thinking about going with the affiliate route, my advice would be to look at other marketplaces that have higher commissions...(40-75%). Hope that helps. Best of luck to you.

    Don't lose focus and keep promoting your website with original content.

    Do not buy into Guru's products.

    Do all of your work manually for the first year.

    If you're selling Amazon products, only sell the higher priced items...Electronics, Home appliances etc. That way your pay out will be much higher too. Or...just promote digital products, much higher ROI, in my experience.
