How can I get a freelancer to bid on my project?

I see many similar projects from other people getting bidded on, where as mines been up for 3 hours and no bids, or emails.

Do I need to be patient, or... what?

Thanks

Yeah be patient, I'm sure people will bid on it when they see it - After all I presume your job is listed for a few days, you want to wait till its finished so you can review all that have applied for it.

Going after the first one because you are in a hurry to get the job done could put you in a worse situation

    Hi Howie,

Where do you have your project posted? I can take a look at it and give you some tips...I do freelancing work out of ODesk and I'm very familiar with the posts and biddings...

    Let me know,
    Joni

It's hard to say without looking at it. Many freelancers won't bid if

    • Buyer has no reputation
    • Buyer sounds to demanding
    • Description is to vague
    • Budget or expected completion time isn't reasonable
Also remember the timezone differences if you are expecting a majority of your bids from India, ect.

In case you're posting your job on Freelancer, the best thing you can do is invite freelancers to bid on your project. Just visit their profile page and hit the Invite Provider button in the upper right corner

Also, you should take a look at completed project and find those freelancers who got great reviews working something similar to what you need. This way you can make sure that most bidders are great workers and are qualified for your task.

    Hope this helps,
    Traian

  • listen you can personally invite some freelancers in your project and take their interviews. on vworkes, odesk and freelancer also provide this opportunity.then it will be more easier for you to get a lot of bidder.

    thanks

It all depends on where you are posting. I've had great success with posting ads right here on the Warrior Forum. It only cost me $5 to post it ad I had multiple bids. Also make sure you are being specific in what you want, many times I've skipped over ads because they give me no idea on what they actually want.
