Do you find free ebooks very expensive?

When I was just starting I was so delighted to see so many ebooks which were free. I devoured almost all of them!

But I later realized that many of those free ebooks costed me a lot!

Have you ever experienced the same thing and came to the same realization?

How can we help prevent beginners from going through the same pattern?

How can we help prevent beginners from going through the same pattern?

You can't. Many start with the attitude of "I'm not going to spend any money on this until I see if it works". They'll download every freebie they can find until they realize the purpose of 95% of the freebies is to either sell them another product - or is available as a list builder because it's somewhat outdated. Eventually, they'll learn how to identify valuable free products when they find them - and ignore the rest.

Then they'll buy $7 - $15 products - then move to $20-40 products, then $60-150 sounds reasonable - and some will get carried away and buy into thousand dollar launches they can't afford and don't have the experience yet to use.

A small number of beginning marketers will do extensive research - buy no more than 2-3 of the best "how to" products and focus on USING the info in those products instead of continuing to buy, buy, buy or to download free products indiscriminately. That group will be the first to reach profit.

It's a learning curve for everyone who is a beginner - and you can't teach common sense. People have to arrive at that on their own.

In my opinion, there is far too much focus on "being a newbie" - it's temporary and if you learn just enough to get your own plan together and start working on it, you won't be a newbie very long.

MY harddrive is so cluttered with freebie crap, It's outrageous!

Mixed with all the stuff I've bought, then it hits me in the face to offer my services as a 3-D animator, and made more money with that than everything I've bought and gotten put together.

My advice to newbies would be to get reports on how to create certain products or services, get yourself a website, and get to it.

Don't waste thousands of your money/significant others money chasing dead leads!
