Ok warriors. This is my first post. I am new to IM and have been reading everything I can get my hands on. The problem is ... with the amount of information I think all I am doing is confusing myself. Now I have BS in marketing and MS in Sports marketing and I feel that this is something I can do. I am just looking for some direction and support. Any ideas, help, or words of support would be great.

Just implement some thing and get on the job training. You will fail in some thing and excel in others. At the same time, you will also learn. Just reading the ebooks will only give you book knowledge. To get the street experience, you have to start implementing something. If you already know the basics of SEO, backlinks, forum marketing, article writing, linkbaits, affiliate marketing, etc. you are set to go. Decide what you want to do and go with that.

Like I said in another post on info overload.

      Read

      Implement

      Review

You'll succeed if you follow this simple formula...fail if you don't. It's pretty much that simple.

Info overload is great for newbies though. Most might disagree but you'd be amazed at what you can retain if you pound it out...learn fast...fail fast...then start getting better at what works. It's truly the path to success.

Read something, implement it, and review the results (if good, repeat...if not, throw out)

      Cheers,

      Brad Spencer

Well...it's good to read a lot, get an overview of the different ways of making money online so you can jump into the right thing.

I would digest all the info and think about where you think you fit in. Do you want to be the guy who creates his own product and has his own business?
Or do you want to be the guy to just connect other businesses with customers and collect some cash off that. Do you want to have one fantastic authority site, or would you rather have many many little money making machines.

Do you want a business at all? Or do you maybe just want to provide services such as copywriting and ghost-writing.

Think about who you are so you can focus in the right area. It's easy to get overwhelmed. But you need to find the strategies that will make you happy.

I know..... I guess I will just have to bite the bullet and jump in. I am working on an ebook but I just really think there is something bigger and better out there.

Information Overload - Most of us have experienced it at some stage.

You need to choose one method and then focus on that one alone. Then read what you need to about that method and implement it - and then stick with it long enough to make it work.

Once you choose a method - don't go looking for anything else, just stick with that one until you are making some money with it.

My 2 cents. Look into product creation and recruiting affiliates / Joint ventures and NEVER look back.

You know one of the most helpful things that someone told me when I was complaining about information overload and how i didn't know how to pick the best thing to start with, was...pick something, and do it. And it won't be perfect. But learn from it and then go on to the next thing.

Whatever you pick to start with and implement will teach you about internet marketing. The first thing that you pick is most likely NOT going to be your big breakthrough or your million dollar idea; that takes practice, time, observation, a learning curve, just like any other business does.

But it will likely make you a little money and get your feet wet, and then you go on to the next thing.
