Hosting More Than 2 Websites

Hey guys, right now I'm having a dilemma when trying to get two websites up under 1 hosting account. So I use iPage and they only way that it seems like I can get two sites up at the same time is to have weird domain home page: "domainname.com/domainname". I just want a normal : "domainname.com" but it looks like I can't do that according to their help center. Do any of you warriors have any hosting websites that user friendly and don't have me going into the file manager when ever I want to create a new site?

Thanks!

You probably need to switch hosts. Check out WHT forums (webhostingtalk.com). They've got tons of great hosting deals, with several being posted every day.

You could always opt for hostgator, and try their hosting for a penny. Some people swear by them, although, there are a lot of alternatives. Just be careful, and choose a reputable company.

Many of the $8 - $10/mo range hosts offer unlimited domain support, you probably just need to change hosts.

If you are cross linking between you sites for SEO purposed you would want them to appear to not have the same owner, one essential for this is to have separate IP addresses, this can be acheived using hosting accounts on different services, or with an SEO Hosting plan that provides multiple IP addresses for a premium charge.

Your example: "domainname.com/domainname" shows a sub-directory, the other option, which must be allowed by your your is a sub-domain, which look like cats.animalsite.com, dogs.animalsite.com, they are most useful for appearing like separate sites to naive users, these might to be indexed a bit more like separate domains, though the search engines recognize the common parent domain.

That's how an addon domain works. It's a subdirectory of your main account, but when you point your new domain name to your hosting account nameservers you should be able see it as "domainname.com".

If you want a separate control panel for every site you will need to get a reseller hosting account.

    Purchase a reseller account.

I can honestly recommend HostDime. Have been using them
for over two years now and loving every moment with them. The
servers, the uptime, the first-class support... What more could
    you ask for?
