clickbank vs Other provider

We know that before an affiliate would be interested in a product, the seller has to prove it works through conversions and sales data unless of course you're going by gravity in clickbank.

However - As a new product launches - whats the best ....

Use clickbank as the payment provider, build up gravity but pay the price in the cut they take from you.

or
use paypal or another provider and pay typically 3-4%
and the 60 day money back guarantee doesnt necessarily have to apply.

so

Clickbank vs Other

If your asking where is the best place to launch your product there are many different options. Besides Click bank you should check out RAP Bank (Rapid Action Profits Script Required), Pay Spree, PayDotcom, ejunkie, Digi Results and you can even launch your products here at the warrior forum. Each one offers something different so take a look at each one.

Hi - NO thats not what i'm asking lol.

If you were going to advertise my product as an affiliate - you want to see the product is a good one through sales figures, conversions etc....

      Sooooooo
      The question is:

Would you just put paypal on your site and try to sell it to prove it works and then provide those sales figures....

OR stick it on clickbank right away (or another provider) and take a (probably) bigger cut in card charges but end up with gravity ratings and a backend report of sales figures to provide to people.
I assumed it's only best to advertise on an affiliate site ONCE you prove your product is worthy

You're absolutely right, Harry; and you're asking a good and relevant question.

Ok, here's the thing: I'm not a vendor, so maybe I shouldn't be replying. On the other hand, I'm a successful affiliate, so I'm (something like) one of the people you want to attract, so maybe that entitles me to chip in with an opinion, here?

I think you may be better off going with Clickbank in the first instance, even though it will cost you more in the short-term.

"Attracting Clickbank affiliates" is a funny business. The statistical parameters involved in "having affiliates" are all skewed and distorted, because the reality is that 10% of affiliates make 90% of the sales, and the other 90% make only 10% collectively. So, you need (I think!) to look at what you're asking from the perspective of "serious affiliates" only and more or less forget the majority. And I suspect that "having everything all in one place" is going to matter. Your potential serious affiliates are not going to be put off by your product having a low gravity (at the point at which you start to promote it to affiliates) but might - for a few reasons - be concerned about it having had another sales page outside Clickbank. I think it'll look better to the people who matter if you pay the extra and go with Clickbank from the outset.

Remember that sales figures/conversion rates are only going to be available informally from the vendor, anyway, however you do this ... and for a new vendor, you may have a "credibility gap" over supplying your figures, however you do it.

I suspect you have more to gain than to lose by doing this the expensive way, I'm afraid. Just my perspective.
