Hey Warriors, just looking to give out a little method I used last year (hope it still works) when I was running one Site selling T-Shirts and another Reviewing IM Products. Both shot up Googles rankings pretty quick for the keywords, which suprised me ALOT. Truth be told not many sales came as a result, but I've learnt since. (Thankfully). Anyway here it is: FIRSTLY, THE WEBSITES 1: Website Structure The websites were build in a pretty old fashioned way. A basic table in Frontpage with a header, menu on the left hand side, and space in the middle for content. They looked a lot like this: (you may have seein this in my other recent thread BTW) ![]() Both sites had around 10-15 pages on content. The T-Shirt site basically only had images and a small paragraph about each band on it's pages. (it was for Classic Rock Bands) 2: On page SEO What I would do for each page, is have the keywords as the title in the black table cells you can see in the photo (there's one at the top and the bottom of the table) and I would make that text a Link to the current page. In the case of the page in the Pic, the keywords would have been "what is affiliate marketing". At the Start of the content I would again use the Keyword as the Header. This works well because using the contrast, people don't tend to notice you've got the keywords twice in a row. It appears more of a design feature. Throughout the actual text I spread the keywords out efficiently but ALWAYS naturally. I've found writing naturally usually results in pretty good keyword placement, for me anyway. You should make sure any headers or text in bold uses keywords. ALSO: Make sure the keywords you've chosen are in the page URL. Again in the pics case, the keywords are "what is affiliate marketing", the page URL would be affiliate-newbies.net/whatisaffiliatemarketing.htm. SECONDLY, THE OFF PAGE STUFF 1: Create your traffic generating Blog. The first thing I did following the publishing of the Websites was add a Blog to each domain. I would put it in a subdomain, so blog.domain.com. I used the methods outlined in a product made by a fellow Warrior no less, which was Blogs for Traffic. I think you're all pretty familiar with those techniques anyway - posting and pinging, plus social bookmarking. 2: Follow these Daily Steps: 1: Write an article about your chosen topic, place it on your blog and link to a RELEVANT page on your website. Ping the Blog post and Digg etc. 2: Edit the article slightly and post to Ezine Articles, again linking to your WEBSITE. Remembering of course to link to the page covering the exact topic mentioned in the article. 3: Create A squidoo page relating to your website. Link to your website. The most important step for me was using a couple of accounts and giving my Lenses a 5 Star rating. I was also part of a community on another forum who rated and commented on each others lenses - this was a HUGE part of my lenses ranking highly, thus giving my website more trffic and a higher rating. PS - you NEED to update each of your Squidoo Lenses weekly at least. When you leave them untouched, they slide down the ratings. 4: Write a completely UNIQUE article again and add it to your website. Remember the linking structure of your website needs to be flawless, so make sure every page links to every page when you're adding these. Anyway that's a pretty brief overview of the techniques I used last year and found my pages hitting the first page after a few days to a week, and climbing steadily whilst using those steps! It was all written pretty quick so please excuse any errors. Hope someone finds this useful, Cheers, Justin. |

Thanks Nathan, glad to get some feedback! The pic should be working now BTW. On my PC I had to click the big white space on Imageshack but shouldn't be the same for anyone else. Cheers |

Great tips. There are actually 20 small steps to optimize a site or blog to help it in ranking. These steps include ping, using keywords, LSI, etc. However, this article is simple to follow and easy to start for anyone. Great job! |

Hello, This is really helpful for new comers in SEO field. You mentioned, there are two methods in Search Engine Marketing. But, there are many methods to promote websites in major search engines. Because, different search engine follows different algorithms and LSI. By the way, great work and keep going..... |

Thanks John and Alex. You're right there is a lot more to it, in theory. The funny thing is that when I did all these simple things I almost took none of it into account, and still got great results. For some using the exact tips and tricks will work, but funnily for me just keeping it simple and real worked a charm. |
