Autoresponder Sequence Question

My question is at the end but I want to give some background:

I have 10+ niche sports related sites that I've run for ~3-4 months. I get decent traffic and decent conversions for my affiliate program. I do use Aweber to list build and between the 10 sites (all with their own opt-in) I'll get 50-100 joins per day depending upon the time of year and events at that time.

My current followup with my lists consists of an email with the daily schedule for that sport plus any special upcoming events. Within each I provide some sort of signup opportunity. The open rate for my emails is around 5-10% which I think is acceptable.

Here's my question and I'd love some good ideas:

Everyone and their mother has made me believe that I need an autoresponder sequence that provides some quality content and put it on autopilot. While I think its a decent idea, I have 10 sites and only 24 hours in a day and this is a PART TIME thing I'm doing.
Can anyone please recommend a way to outsource the making of a quality but affordable autoreponder sequence with the knowledge that it has worked for them already.

Thanks!

JR

Look in the Warriors for Hire forum. You should find someone who will write these AR sequences for you.

I've took many marketing course and this tip is definitivly the one you should do. You tell in your own words what you believe the best content you learned from other.

This is AKA copy your shi* & rename them . I do believe when you want to communicate a message, you have to keep giving it through different way and channel.

All I send them is that day's schedule (for the sport they signed up for). You still think that's too much?

To anyone sending me PMS: I guess you need 50 Posts to send a PM reply?? That's a bit much but rules are rules so I cannot respond to any PMs yet. Sorry.

        @JR

Your mileage may vary. It is not uncommon at all for marketers to send email every day if you provide valuable content. Just because it does not work for some, this is not a factor that it will not be effective for your lists.

One thing you could do is either get some PLR on your topic (or have someone write it for you) and then hire someone to add your messages to your autoresponder. Hands off for you.

The most successful email marketers email everyday. The more you mail, the more unsubscribes you get, but the more positive actions you get as well. There's no point in building a large list of people who don't take action - and that's what you'll get if you mail infrequently.

Unless you join the War Room ($37 once-off for 20 years membership) in which case you can send them right away. Not a "main benefit" of the War Room, it must be said ...

I know nothing about your niche at all (and maybe this says it all) and hope you'll excuse the comment that this line in your original post leapt out at me like whatever leaping things feel like ... I was surprised you thought that was acceptable. Is that something to do with the niche? (I have to say I'd consider that a disaster, myself).

There are people who specialise in it. Anita Ashland is one of them, and I can't believe how reasonable I hear her prices are.

Don't just go to a "content writer" and expect him/her to be able to write you a winning email series: it doesn't work that way.

This is (to put it really politely) a very sweeping generalisation. From all the testing I did last year, if I emailed any of my 8 growing lists every day, I'd very confidently expect both a large number of unsubscriptions and a big reduction in overall income.

    Hi Mate,

Great questions...and its good to see that you are trying
to search for answer to this.

    My input on this...

Personllay I think your open rate is low. So the first thing you need
to do is work on creating better email (compelling) subjectlines and to
    improve their expectations.

The better you presell what they are getting by email, the more likely
they will "Want" to open your email. You email open rate could also be
lacking because you are emailing them daily and they are losing interest.

Not sure, but the best way is to test mailings maybe every 3 days or weekly.

Test that to see if that alone improves your open rate. Definately focus on
writing kick ass subjectlines and also the first setence of the email is important
because some email services/software show that also.

The Secret to finding out what your readers actually want to hear/see/read about
is to send them a survey once they are in your list and simply just ask them. Another
way is to make use of your thank-you page (after opt-in) for a survey.

It could also be something along the lines of...

"Hey thanks for joining my online newsletter...I am always trying to make it better
and I would really appreciate it if you could answer this one questions"

If you could only ask 1 question to a (Niche) Expert...what would it be?

Not sure if this applies to you, because I dont really know what niche
or stuff you are selling to them. But that should give you some great
ideas to get your improvements going.

    Hope that helps?

    Take Care,

    Michael Silvester

When it comes to how often you email, and what is in those emails, start by looking at the expectations you set when they joined. Did you promise a daily email containing the day's schedule? Then send them a schedule with the day's events once a day.

Some lists take a more hands-on approach, and you may have them. You do not want to play bait and switch - sign up for a daily schedule and get a bunch of sales offers instead. Your credibility will be shot faster than a fat guy on a greased waterslide.

Some lists are just hands-on by their nature. If I signed up for a daily schedule, stock picks, betting picks, and such, I sure don't want to land in someone's "autopilot" autoresponder series.

Realistically, who really signs up to be placed in a sales-laden autoresponder sequence? No one. Lets be honest here. The issue is how to keep the list's interest while also being able to entice a sale here or there. Just trying to figure out how.

It's all in the positioning. Hit Google and do a little digging for terms like 'deal of the day'...

People sign up for those looking for that pointer to something to buy. Obviously they won't all buy every day, but some of them will likely buy something.

Don't throw away ideas people are making money with because they don't fit your preconceptions.
