New here and some advice if I may

I aint a spammer and you will not see dodgy links from me, just thought I would say hello to all and as the title suggests get some advice if I may.
Reading through the forums I am overwhelmed by the amount of people who have done well for themselves, I for one have always respected the go getters etc.
After 34 years boy to man (yes I am that old) I am now ready to take that plunge into IM.
I have quite a bit of experience with WordPress and currently run my own blog also on WordPress (its nothing to do with IM BTW) as WordPress seems to be the platform of choice, which is very handy for me.
Ok enough bleating advice please:
Firstly I am not asking for give me all your tips so I can pillage them and make $$$ anyone who knows me knows I am not like that.
I have several domain names that I am looking at creating sites for, one of them in particular I feel is quite good and its this one in particular I am looking at leveraging.
The idea: I want to create a reviews site, that genuinely engages with users etc, the idea being they actually submit reviews etc.
I would like to monetize the site and have signed up as an Amazon affiliate, I will be covering pretty much every single category on Amazon. I am targeting Amazon first as the site is UK focussed and Amazon does have a half decent commission scheme, couple with thousands of products.
What I wanted to know is the following in terms of:
SEO - is there any tips / tricks / guides for leveraging seo to increase site ranking
Amazon - any decent plugins for WordPress I really should be looking into
In terms of functionality I have a theme and can hack it to do what I need to, I just wanted to draw on some members experiences, best practices etc.
In return if I can be of any assistance to anyone with WordPress etc, I will glady return the favour.
