First ClickBank product is about to launch, advice needed!

Hey guys!

This is my first post on here (please be nice).

I just thought I would come and get some advice from you guys who have been doing internet marketing for quite some time. After several months of hard work, I am just about launch my first ClickBank product.

Don't want to reveal what it is just yet, it would be rude to splash it all over these forums as a newbie. But, what I was wanting to know is what kind of first steps and procedures do you guys take when your product is about to go live?

Obviously, as a first timer I don't have huge resources for promotion like the guru's do, but my site is all done and the product has been approved. I have various email captures and squeeze pages in place but even though I have a lot of ideas about what I want to do, it feels like I've got millions of things think about.

My product isn't in the IM niche by the way, it's something that will appeal to quite a mass market. Reasonably easy to target though.

Looking forward to some words of wisdom!

Just let it rip Alex, the results can't be any worse than the day before so don't get hung up on all the small stuff, just get it going and deal with one thing at a time.

When you let it rip don't stop and wait for traffic or check your sales stats every minute, just concentrate on one strategy at a time and work hard at it.

Remember, one thing at a time. It helps if you put pen to paper and write out a little plan of action on how you are going to get traffic to your site. Do not make it complicated, stick to the basics, work on it and improve from there.

Personally I would start with getting affiliates in your market. Look who the people in your market are that sell products, contact them about promoting your product. Give them a free copy to review without question. Then watch your conversion rates and tweak your sales copy accordingly.

Keep progressing, keep calling people in your market and eventually you will land a few "big fishes" to promote for you if they like your product.

    Hi:

    Shireen here :-)

Normally these are the steps when I want to list a product on clickbank:

    1) get the product ready.

    2) outsource the graphics (minisite, ecovers, banners)

    3) prepare the sales page & download page

    4) send to clickbank for approval

    5) prepare a affiliate page

    6) set up a 7 days mini course to give away (build my list)

    7) inform my affiliates about my new product launch

    8) inform my current subscribers and give them a time limited huge discount.

    Hope it helps :-)

My best piece of advice would just be to get the product online and get selling. Too many people (myself included) have made the mistake of trying to get everything perfect and in place BEFORE the product is launched. This means the product takes forever to hit the market and sometimes you lose interest along the way.

You can't plan for everything and you can't guess what is going to work. Get the product online, see what happens, and adjust your plans as you go. You'll succeed much faster doing things this way.

You need traffic! Not to kill the vibe... but just "being" in Clickbank won't result in as many sales as you'd like.

You'll need to find some affiliates. Join some forums in that niche and build some relationships with some of the "big names" in your market. Find the right time and propose a JV opportunity to them.

Absolutely make it live and focus on getting affiliates. Don't get mired down in details and you will see success. Get deep inside your niche and contact as many experts in your niche as possible with news of your product. Give away your product so it can be reviewed by experts and ask permission to use their positive words as testimonial. Put the testimonials on your sales page and some testimonials on your affiliates page as well. Remember that when you are creating your affiliate page, it is also a kind of sales page.

Wishing you all the best with your first ClickBank product!

    I want to add one thing I think it's very important to you and everyone that have products including me of course;

Is to have a high performance support, because everybody want to contact you and ask for the product.

This is very important for you to build your reputation and credibility; if you don't have a good support; unfortunately I must to say that you will destroy your business before even start.

You really should get some affiliates and JV partners and set a launch date. Don't put the sales page up until that date and time. Without JV partners your going to be looking at 5-10 sales a year compared to hundreds.

Thanks for replies and advice guys!

My product is actually already live, and I didn't want to do the whole build up and launch date thing. It's not really appropriate for my niche.

The problem I'm faced with unfortunately is finding affiliates in my niche, because there arent many, or at least I haven't found them yet. There's actually no other product on the market like mine, I'd identified a gap that no one had created a product for.

The search volumes are huge too with pretty low competition on the keywords, and like I said before I think it appeals (or will appeal) to quite a large market.

So at the moment I've been tinkering with CPC and PPV sending the traffic to squeeze pages, I'm on a backlink building campaign, and I've also setup a wordpress blog with a few articles targeting some of my main keywords.

I've got a good support/ticket system in place, the sales page is decent, my affiliate page has lots of articles, emails and banners etc. I've even done a nice video pitch that automatically plays at the top of the sales page

The main problem I'm having is attracting affiliates.

Welcome to the forum and good luck with your first Clickbank product.

You may know this, but just in case you didn't ... even as a new member, it would be entirely legitimate and acceptable for you to put a link to your affiliate-page in your signature-file here, at least to show Warriors that your product's available. (But then not to show your sig-file in posts in conversations like this one, admittedly, because that would be "posts drawing attention to your sig-file" which is a big no-no. But under "miscellaneous options" below the posting-box you can elect not to show your signature on any individual posts. Who knows ... maybe you've already done that? ).

Get a JV broker. I always do for most of my mass launches.

Have you heard of Brad Callen's Affiliate elite? It also helps to save time in finding super affiliates.

First off Ensure that you have an affiliate area, then start recurting affiliates who are interested in promoting your product or just go with a JV broker.

Don't get ahead of yourself yet - no need to go looking for "mass launch JV partners" or "super affiliates" - if this is your first product then those kinds won't take you seriously, won't read your email and won't get back to you.

The thing you really need to do is test your conversion rate intensely. Drive your own traffic - use mutliple sources as an actual affiliate would - do some ppc, do some article marketing, buy some solo email blasts.

Then, and ONLY then would I approach affiliates or "JV partners" - show them solid conversion proof and you will get taken a lot more seriously.

That's really good advice, thank you! Makes a lot of sense.

Yes, it's a slower process than most say... at least in my experience...

3 months testing and IMPROVING conversion rates before announcing our product - put approx 800+ sales through in that time... then spent the next 18 months (to present date) further scaling up, improving the site, adding products, testing, split testing, trying discounts etc etc... taken me approx 21 months to break into the CB top 50...

I think that's success, but if you look at any tiny part of that timeframe it all looks like failure at the time.... just keep pushing, and building and look back in 3 months and youll see you have actually made progress

        Good luck!
