Support Ticket/Knowledgebase/FAQ system?

Hi

Can anyone recommend a good support ticket system? The ability to build a knowledgebase / FAQ would be useful.

If it's a Fantastico install that would be a bonus but any script will do.

Thanks
Bob

It depends on your skill levels/knowledge.

Kayako eSupport/Support Suite is a popular choice, but can prove quite costly and takes a bit of effort to setup. They do have a hosted version to take out the installation pains, although there's still a fair bit of configuration work required. It is very extensive though, and is capable of running large online service desks.

Then you've got Cerb4. Another good choice, but can be a bit tricky to setup if you're not technically minded. There's a free (basic) version, a fully featured "community" (free) version, and a paid for option with extras. It's not quite as polished as Kayako, but is very powerful none-the-less.

Then there's Accord5 Trellis Desk, a completely free offering. It's less feature rich than the other two I've mentioned, but is quicker to setup and implement and still very, very capable. With less features, there's a quicker learning curve for implementation and use.

The three I've mentioned are PHP scripts. You can also view more offerings including reviews over at script repository Hotscripts which also includes helpdesk scripts for other scripting languages aside from PHP.

    Hope I've helped!

    Hi Bob B

I can highly recommend Frank Haywood's Ticket Desk Pro. I have it installed at BrightFutureMarketing.com if you want to see it in action. It's very easy to install/setup and has FAQ functionality aswell as a bunch of other cool features.

    Cheers...Graham

      Hi,

I use VIP Help Desk (currently $29) simple enough to install and has all the features you want - you can see it in action if you go to any of my sites and click the support link:

Help Desk 2.0 works pretty well and seems to be used by a lot of internet sites. I think it's a little pricey though

Best free help desk is Hesk. You can download it from phpjunkyard.com

Been running my script install service on it for over 2 years with no problems at all.

    Regards

You can try zendesk.com, which is a SAAS.

It has a free version, as well as excellent paid plans.

For self-hosted, I've had good experiences with Cerberus, Kayako and Saeven.

For a simpler but reliable helpdesk, try TroubleTicketExpress.com

Bob - the Accord5 Trellis Desk I recommended is free... Can strongly recommend it as a free desk, I'm going to be implementing it myself. I believe they have a demo desk setup on their site.

I'll also be taking a look at Jane's WP suggestion - thanks Jane!
