Payment processors and complete solutions...

Hi,

Another quick Q...

I'm currently set up using PayPal as my payment processor but I've had a few problems with them and all the horror stories about them freezing accounts for silly reasons makes me wonder.

What are some of the better payment processors around?

Also whats some of the best complete solutions for having:
An affiliate program, support desk, and sales, commissions monitoring etc.

Thank you.

Hi, I currently use PremiumWebCart and have been fairly satisfied with them. I say fairly because I've been using PayPal as the merchant account with them and the problems I have had resulted from that.

That being said, they offer everything you're looking for all in one spot for a reasonable price.

I've just recently discovered Nanacast which I may be switching over to for membership reasons. PremiumWebCart has membership programs but they are very generic and I would not suggest using them for this.

I hear ya, I want to be far away from Paypal but they got me right now.

I'm considering Google Checkout and Amazon FPS but I haven't done serious 'looking into' yet.

2Checkout is one I hear a lot about, and the bonus with them is that they accept Paypal for payment--so even if you don't want to use Paypal, your buyers can. I don't know if Google and Amazon do, I tend to think not.

2checkout.com is good, but you can only use it on one site at a time. If you want to use it on more than one site you have to open (and pay for) another account.

Wow I've just been on the live chat with PremiumWebCart and their service seems really great. Do others have any experience with it?

    Thanx

Personally I love my authorize.net account, we have used 2checkout in the past but nothing is faster than authorize.net. Normally we only accept Visa/MC/DS through auth and some clients tend to use PayPal (or the PP debit card) but a straight credit card is a quick and easy work around, esp. if you have a full billing system to boot. PayPal lags a little in comparison. What type of billing system do you plan to use or are you only looking for ways to process the transactions?

You can also check moneybrookers or STP,but the main problem with them is that your clients can't pay via paypal

You should check out the following:
    2checkout.com
Payspree.com (this one allows you to offer 100% commissions)
1Shoppingcart.com (also comes with an autoresponder and good for people with lists)

I also moved away from paypal about 6 months ago. Unfortunately lots of people want to pay with paypal so using a credit card processor lost me a lot of business. I use plimus now which lets people pay with paypal, cc/debit card and moneybookers. Its nice to accept paypal payments and not have to have a paypal account and I highly recommend them, nothing but good things to say thus far.

I feel your pain and I would not want to hand over my finances over to a [whimsical] company like paypal... too many horror stories to overlook....and they seem to go from bad to worse....
sometime back they hit the rock bottom and then they have now since started digging.

There are a couple of threads.. incl the one that I had started which had some good contributions....you can search them and if you want the link to that thread.. lemme know...

Thanx everyone for all the suggestions, really helpful.

As I've said I'm not quite ready to make the move yet but it's good to do some research about these things before hand.

I've also heard good things about a website called premium web cart. I recently spent an hour or so talking to one of their live support agents and they were really helpful so maybe thats another good option.

        Anyway Thanx again.
