How to block computerized comments

I am very frustrated as the only comments being left on my Wordpress review sites are computerized auto messages that don't say anything. I looked too see if there was a Captcha plugin but I couldn't find one.

Is there anything I can do to keep them from posting other than marking them as spam?

    I tend to use Akismet for my own blog but I also watch it like a hawk too. I am not too familiar with the others but its a starting shot. I am sure some others can chime in here, esp. if they have used others (which I would like to here about too).

    Yeah I would definitely setup askimet, we use that as well as a capthca plugin for signups, and a few other things. One great way to deal with it though, is require that you be registered in order to comment, so only people who take the time to setup and account and give you their contact info can comment... Yeah I know they still get around that with the software sometimes, but it makes it harder. Also, if your blog is seen to be anti-spam and have things like that in place, you mind find it being removed from the lists that float around for auto approved comments sites.

    I use Bad Behavior as well as Akismet. The combination is very effective, although 1 or 2 do occasionally get through.

      I use Growmap Anti-Spambot plugin. Works a charm for me. I rarely get anymore automated spam comments now.
