    Danny,

I'm not exactly in the construction trades, I'm in the mechanic/repair business and I agree with you... in fact, we might have it worse here in the U.S.

If I had to guess or make a general observation, I'd say it's that people are unsure of the economy/future and are just reluctant to spend any money at all. Christmas is always a bit slow too.

I'm not sure if you're looking for commiseration or insight but I wanted to acknowledge your situation.

    Hello Joe,

I am just stressed and annoyed, I have trained hard to do a highly skilled job (plasterer) and people want to pay minimum wage??

I honestly dont understand it at the min.

    Might become a jigalo

    Danny,

Maybe it's time that you get into some sort of a network marketing business so that ONE day, you will be able to stop what you are doing right now and still be able to live life to its fullest and not have to worry about making money and living.

Well The ones I did before consisted of selling shite products to friends and family then trying to convibnce more people that I was making millions from selling shite.

An awful lot of work for very little return

    just my opinion

I was in the trades for a long time. I was a cabinetmaker.

In hard times there is usually too much trades talent to go around.
I know a lot of guys who are good carpenters. Like a lot
of things it's about who you know. If you can get in with
the contractors who provide for the truly wealthy it's not
a problem to get the work.

Middle-class people will put off improvements and luxuries.
The rich don't care. They do what they want because
    they are least-affected and last-affected.

Read Dan Kennedy's "Marketing To The Affluent" and you
    should see some new possibilities.

My dh is a commercial plumber, he was laid off for over 2 months but is finally back to work now. He's LUCKY to have a job right now because there are still so many out of work. With the real estate/economy the way it is they're just not building like they were a couple of years ago. It will get better.

Why not use your knowledge and start creating some "how to" videos, post them on Youtube with a link back to your site. Find a good converting affiliate program related to your trade or sell your own product.
