Poor Advertising Decisions

Folks, when you put out something, realize that you have to consider it from several angles...

NBC and Yum! Brands’ unfortunately placed Kentucky Derby logo - Y! Sports Blogs - Yahoo! Sports

"Yum" brands owns Kentucky Fried Chicken and Taco Bell and their logo is a little "thought bubble"... sort of a bad placement here.

Maybe a "sponsored by Yum brands" would have helped.

I know this seems off-topic, but we deal in an international business. The above is just a mistake, an oversight, but always, always avoid using regional or very specific cultural things in your marketing.

What's viewed as "acceptable" in your area of the world may be very offensive to others.

All success,

Gary

Could be worse... They could have put the "Yum" logo on top.

Of course, if they had put "sponsored by" in there by the logo, it would have just been Photoshop'd out when the thing started to spread on the Internet.

Dan's content is irregularly read by handfuls of people. Join the elite few by reading his blog: dcrBlogs.com, following him on Twitter: dcrTweets.com or reading his fiction: dcrWrites.com but NOT by Clicking Here!

Dan also writes content for hire, but you can't afford him anyway.

Yep, probably replaced with "seasoned by"... (yikes)

Just shows what the negative potential is.
