How many Youtube videos do you have?

I'm wondering how many youtube videos you try to make in a certain niche? I mean, does 50 seem to bring consistent results, or 100, or?

Just your personal experiences with videos. Also, does anyone outsource channel views, likes, etc and how much do you think it helps?

I'm curious to know what is working for different people....

I know some people who make videos every week, and they see pretty good results, but when they stop making videos, the traffic seems to die down.

I have 271. I have a link to my website in the description, and my traffic from youtube is pretty good.

A quick look at my stats for the last 30 days says:

    Source | Visits | %visits
    youtube.com | 5,001 | 36.67%

What do you do to promote those videos? Have you bought views/comments etc?

I have a few of my dogs, one of my friend getting kicked in the head on accident, one of another friend getting beat up by my heavy bag, one of a C4 blast, and one of my giving an IV.. I had one of a chicken running around with no head but YT took that down because it wasn't "educational" - but us blowing up a roadway with C4 is?

Oh, and I have one to promote my sole fiverr gig, which has been processing on fiverr for a week now. I made this one with Camtasia..

I haven't really broken into the video marketing scene yet.. but I need to.

Never bought any views. I have been doing this for 6 years, so I have a lot of subscribers. 18,000 or so.

What kind of equipment do most of you who create vids use? I have a couple of cameras with digital video capability, not sure if that is good enough. Also, what software beyond Camtasia do you use (for editing regular video footage, putting in background music, etc.). I use Audacity for my audio - is that also useful for the audio track in a video production?

    Thanks!

Hi, everything you have should be plenty. I would suggest checking out Animoto Pro it's a monthly fee but is drop dead simple.

There are tons of free (unrestricted) images on the web. For most videos they only need to be under a minute. You just want them to click to go to your site.

IMHO if you spend any more than an hour on a video including writing the script ect you're way over thinking it.

REMEMBER- the people who are killing it with videos are NOT marketers. They're kids like Rebecca Black or Justin Bieber. They put marketers to shame and do their first vids with the family Video camera.

Yes, I would ay to outsource views, comments, likes and subscribes because they definatley get your video ranked in you tube better. I also suggest back linking just like you would your site so you can get up the serps.

As far as how many videos?
Do 5 niches or keywords see which ones start bring in traffic and which don't. Then feed the winners with more likes-subs ect and more links.

Rinse and repeat until you have a drink in your hand and your toes in the sand without a care in the world.
Or until you make your car payment

Video marketing is another area i'm going to look into. I've only ever made two videos for one of my micro niche sites and only used one of those videos.
Took me a bit too long to see zero results, damn my impatience and slow computer

Wow, those are some interesting results. I don't make a video of myself at all - just use images or a slideshow. I do not like myself on camera.

How about tracking views to your site from your you tube videos?

Some go for slideshows selling affiliate products.

Paid views: I don't risk it. There is one decent provider and I trust nobody else. In fact, I just don't use them at all. I want my views to look natural.

Keyword research is important. If I make 50 videos, maybe 10 will be duds, 10 will be hits, 30 somewhere in between. I'm currently evaluating Video Shadow made by Charles Livingston right here on Warrior Forum. It's turning out to be a really useful tool for me, for all sorts of reasons.

There's a few other tidbits of info I've collected along the way. I actually keep my mouth stum most of the time because I want people to keep on believing that "video is hard" etc. Means less competition for me!

Hey Chris, thanks for the free plug! :-)

    Ok, here's my 2 cents.

Someone asked what type of camera? After researching and reading TONS of threads on this.... here's what I've found.... get a kodak Zi8 HD pocket camcorder. It will cover 95% of what you want done. I bought one off of amazon for 90 bucks. It's like a flip cam but way better. It's the only one that has a mic jack on it, so that you can use a mic. I bought a little sony mic to attach to it for like 40 bucks. Great quality vids.

Buying views: go to fiverr.com to get them really cheap. BUT make sure that they are real human views and not bot views. OR go to viewet.com and join for free. You can then add your video and get credit for viewing others that you can use to view yours.... Now, this will take longer, but is 100% google proof ;-) and you can outsource, which is what I did.

For videos, I will buy views, likes, comments, favorites, channel views, etc.
just use common sense when finding people and realize that that 1 single even won't make the difference. It's a combo of everything. You do enough stuff, you'll push your videos.

Want to guarantee your video gets lots of views? Try this....
use a hot girl as your thumbnail. On all the videos that I've had an attractive woman on the front, Those videos outperformed my others at least 10 to 1. It was ridiculous.

Now how many videos? Well, quality is always better than quantity for the most part. This is about 80% true. Want to know why? Because if you create 1 good video vs someone else who spent time creating 10 poor videos, the 1 good video will have a chance to go viral. your 10 poor videos that you spent 10 minutes have a very poor chance of going viral.

(I'm mostly talking about people who spend 10 minutes per video from animoto or video articles, that type of stuff. If you are creating videos of you talking or live footage, then that's a bit different. If you are doing 10 of those a day, good for you!)

People are on you tube for 2 reasons: #1: entertainment, #2: find out how to do something. Lots of money to be made in both and 95% of people on you tube aren't marketers so if you know what you are doing, you have a slight advantage...aka LEARN VIDEO SEO :-)

Create your video and learn to optimize it with proper tags, title, etc.

Combine this with a decent to good video = VIRAL

I have an animoto pro account and I was creating lots of videos with it for different niches on you tube. They perform terribly. I think 1-2 out of the hundreds I created did OK. But it still didn't make any sales. I stopped doing this and am focusing on better quality videos that don't look the same as everyone elses.

Sites like this are great for creating for clients, but if you are wanting to flood you tube with them, it's a waste of time. I personally think that animoto is brilliant and works great for certain things, but NOT to upload to you tube, IMHO. People don't care for the flashy video stuff when they are on you tube. I know, I'll always skip a video that I see on you tube that has that, what about you? I'm much more likely to watch a powerpoint slide show... (hint, hint :-) )

    Anyway, hope that helped :-)
