Talk About Brand Recognition..

I had NO idea what this commercial was about until the orange text appeared on the screen at 0:18 - I instantly knew.

It's crazy to me that a company can be known simply by the orange text that is displayed on the screen and nothing more.

This to me is something I think we should all strive for.. ultimate brand recognition. After all, we are in this for the long run, right?

AT&T is an enormous company that has been around for a long time. A lot of large corporations have strong brand recognition - it comes with the territory. I remember the first word my little sister said was "french fry" and it was when she saw the McDonalds arches. We pick this stuff up at an early age.

Anyway, back on topic. I think we all strive for that sort of brand recognition, but I'm not sure how realistic it is. Like I said, AT&T makes more money in a day than most people here will for the rest of their lives.

Of course, I agree that money has a lot to do with it. That doesn't mean we can't "strive" for that kind of brand recognition. Maybe we won't reach it on a global scale, but I think we can certainly do it within our respective niches.

And with that kind of attitude you will never create something as big as AT&T. You do realize that many eons ago they were just a guy with an idea right? They bought out competitors. That's how they became huge.

There is no reason why you can't be the AT&T of online marketing. There is no reason why any of us here can't create the next Facebook, Amazon or anything else.

And I am thinking realistically here. Start small, leverage what you have until you become bigger and soon enough you will be making big moves like the "big boys" do.

You're going to fail. If you're afraid of failure then you do not belong in the Internet Marketing Business. Period.

My first mentor pushed branding at me all the time. Then one day it hit me just how powerful it can be. That and leverage.
