Site review thread deleted?

Hey there.

I had just posted a site review thread for my first internet marketing venture and it was deleted. Can a mod please PM me and let me know what I messed up on?

I see these review threads posted all the time and didn't think I was violating any posting rules and was looking forward to constructive feedback from fellow warriors.

Thanks.

Don't hold your breath for that PM.

Having seen your thread, I'm betting it's because it belonged in the web design section. That's where the mods have said that type of thing belongs and not in the main discussion forum.

Even to review someone's marketing pitch?

Maybe you're not supposed to actually link to the site itself? but use like domain dot com?

        Threads get nuked. It happens.

There's no way the mods can PM each person individually and explain why. Sometimes it's simply a judgement call.

        Don't take it personally.

Not taking it personal. I was just looking forward to some feedback and more importantly I don't want to make the same mistake again, whatever it was.

Don't take this the wrong way but I'm happy they remove such threads.

like you say - you see them all the time in the main forum saying "come and check out my page/blog/lense/article etc...."

It's supposed to be a discussion forum not a website critique forum. The web design section is a better place than the main discussion are for such things.

Sorry if you don't like that.

I think any thread that is started with the sole purpose of getting people to look at the posters website is asking to get moved/deleted.

There's nothing to stop you putting a link in your sig file to say "please check out my .... and let me know what you think" so it's not like you can't get feedback.

Also - in case you didn't know - starting threads about why your other threads got deleted is usually asking for trouble too.
