Do I Setup A Simple Duplicate For the USA Market?

I have my site at www.lunchboxdiet.co.uk which is doing well now and I want to setup a USA site as I don't think that I'm going to be that attractive to US affiliates I guess with the .co.uk domain. I have one at The Lunch Box Diet - Best Celebrity Weight Loss Diet Plan 2011 but it doesn't convert very well at all, and doesn't have a massive amount of traffic going to it.
I'm just wondering what the best thing to do would be, to make a duplicate of the UK site but change the text so there' no problem with google, make it a bit more US specific and then try and start working from there?
Is it easy just to copy a wordpress site over like that?
