Flippa Front Page listing

From your experiences is it worth getting front page listing? If so when?

From this URL: flipwebsites.com/selling-websites/white-hat-strategy-for-flippa-auctions/ I heard its best to do it the day before the auction ends for more activity.

Have you guys found this to work effectively or does your auctions run well without it?

Do not opt for the frontpage (featured) in the start of the auction, wait for some bids to appear, then put the listing in featured list. Once people see some bids on a listing , they tend to think that there is some meaning in buying this site because others (bidders) see it too. Featured list get the most views, more people see your listing and bidders, so chances of more confident bidders to arise are great.

My pageviews and people watching the auction have gone up tremendously when I use it, but it's a waste of money to do it before the last couple of days of the auction. People just don't start bidding until the end of the auction.

I would agree with this post. My best success has been to delay the feature listing until later in the auction. More bids seems to always provide more page views.

Is it important to have a favicon if going for the front page?

It's been awhile since I did my listing. I believe I had gotten a front page listing, then I drove a ton of traffic to it, and, then, towards the end, I did another front page listing.

In retrospect, I probably would have just driven a ton of traffic to it from the get-go, built up some social proof of interest (comments, bids, etc), and then push out a front page listing towards the end.

      Hello Soldier,

Does this mean you are backlinking your listing?

Excellent practical advice about waiting til close to the end. Ebay auctions always get the most traction right at the end.

In negotiations almost all "movement to the middle" to get a deal done happen at the "eleventh hour". It's just human nature to procrastinate and wait til the end to get the deal done.
