Hey all.

Right now I just purchased unlimited space of web hosting and at the same time I just bought a social networking site script.

My plan is to make up a social network about anime.Yes I love anime very much. But I am so confuse right now about legal issue when my close friend tell me that it is a risk to set up the social site as maybe the anime providers/creators will sue me

For example in case if I want to set up a social network about avatar the last airbender. I make a few survey and most people who loves avatar wants a site that has a function like facebook or myspace.com but they want the social site has a specific niche for avatar the last airbender....The problem is Nick(who is owner of avatar)maybe sue me because the exist of this social network.

So what do you think of this?I am so excited to set up a new social network about anime as this is my lovely topic.....But I am so worry to take a risk of the legal problem soon.

I can see that a lot of website just make up about these topics....They do not aware that maybe it could be related with copyright issue soon??

OK let say I want to set up anime social network, what`s the words that i can insert into my social networking site so that it can avoid me from any sue?

I need your advice,guys.Thanks.

Do you ask your maid to fix the plumbing?

Do you ask your accountant to clean your house?

Should you ask a marketing forum to give you legal advice that a lawyer should give you?

Your business sounds like a wonderful idea - but also sounds like one that needs to be set up properly and possibly with some funding behind you and some proper legal advice.

How would anyone here know how some un-named person
or persons deal with legal issues concerning their sites?

You ask a question that can't be answered here.

Jill gave you the only correct answer... seek competent legal advice
or take the chance of losing everything later. There isn't any short cut.

Real easy - don't break the law.

Don't steal intellectual property, only use copyrighted material per acceptable use and fair use laws. Don't engage in illegal activity. You'll be fine.

Why would you give this kind of advice to someone who likely
can't even define many of the terms you used?

There is nothing "real easy" about it.
