With new rules and standards at Ezinearticles, a greater reliance on article marketing, and stiffer competition at the article directories, it becomes increasingly important to maximize your returns on each and every article. Here's a simple guide to boosting the effectiveness of your articles. You can - and should - think of each article as a "mini-website". After all, that's really what they are. When an article shows up in Google's search results, it shows up like any other webpage. What this means is, Google is evaluating that article just like it evaluates a "regular" webpage. Applying some simple SEO principles to your article writing can give you a great boost in the SERPS, and a leg up on your competition: Your article should target a single keyword or phrase. Use that key word/phrase in the title. Use it in the first sentence of the first paragraph. Use it in the first sentence of the last paragraph. Sprinkle LSI versions of your keyword phrase throughout your article. (This simply means using similar and/or synonomous words and phrases). Use your keyword phrase as the anchor text in your resource box. If you follow these simple, basic guidelines, you will find in your articles ranking better and faster for that keyword phrase you are targeting. Mark |

No. One keyword per article. Then anchor it at the end. |

Hi Clashctyrokr, What The Oilman said! If you want your article to go further than just those who read the article by seeing it at the article directory you submitted it to, than you'll want it to show up well in the search engines. Specifically, you want it to show up for certain keywords/phrases. However, if you want to rank high, you don't want to dilute the articles 'punch' by targeting multiple keywords/phrases. You will do much better by targeting a single keyword or keyword phrase for each article, and simply writing more articles, than you will by trying to rank well for multiple terms with a single article. The key here in my opinion is to optimize the article for your keyword phrase, and then also make sure you are linking to your site with that phrase in the anchor text as well. Ideally this would get you to first rank well for that keyword, in the article itself, and then over time push your website up in the rankings for that phrase as well. Matt |

Hi Matt, Yes, as with 'regular' web pages, the most important onpage factor is the anchor text. Mark |
