Duplicate Content Dilemma!

Hi everyone,

I have been posting articles in article directories like eza and once in a while someone would take my article and republish it with my full details etc.

I heard about this duplicate content penalty and was wondering if this applies in this scenario. What I mean is that there will be 2 exact versions of an article I publish - one in the directory which I submitted and the other submitted elsewhere.

Does the duplicate content apply? What can be done?

Thanks in advance
Joseph

Its really not something you need to be worrying about.

Even if someone published something that was on one of your money sites it wouldnt really matter but even less so if its an article that you added to a directory.

It's not duplicate content, it's called syndicated content and it's why some people use article directories - to get their articles published on other, relevant sites with interested readers, with a link back to your site.

If you had that article on your own site more than once, that's duplicate content.

Exactly, dont post duplicate content on your own site because this will be penalized. The same applies if you copy and paste content from another site.
