If you let users double opt-in to your list, they won't get in the spam filter

Yes, and I just write w.eight loss or something like that. This is the case with the message body, but I'm not sure about the url.

"This is illogical, Captain": if people have forgotten that they opted in to your list (which some will, if you don't remind them), they've forgotten. Why would having originally used confirmed opt-in, when they subscribed, make them any less likely to "report spam" if they they think your email's "spam"? Having confirmed their email address probably just makes you feel more "right" about it: it doesn't necessarily reduce the chances of their hitting the "spam" button ...

Spam filters vary by the recipients' ISP and user options. It is completely independent of whether they double opted-in or not. For example AOL, Hotmail, Yahoo are the ones most likely to filter this into bulk email or "spam" folders. And yes weightloss and all its iterations are very common spam trigger words for most email.

Write the email and run it through their spam checker and it will tell you. It will even show you how to improve your email.
