Something I never noticed

Hi everyone, hope you're well.

Something I've never noticed before, is that Aweber has an "Attach File" feature with their autoresponders.

Has anyone used this function before? How does it work? Is it any good?

Thanks a lot.

I don't have a list, but I've been on thousands of them over the years including
all the names you may recognize or have heard. I've never seen an attachment
come in on an aweber email. I believe you when you say it's there to be used. I've
    just never seen it used.

Plus, I imagine it'll trip the spam filter wire and there'll be a nasty explosion.

Thanks for the replies guys I think you're exactly right. Could possibly trigger the spam filters, and it probably isn't worthwhile anyway. I've NEVER received an e-mail with an attachment from any list I've joined.

Just wanted to confirm my thoughts with others, I didn't even know it existed until it just caught my eye lol

    Cheers guys.

  • Also, bear in mind that a lot of people just don't like receiving large files by email, particularly if they have a limited email quota, or don't yet know if they'll want to download a whole file.

Much better to host it on a web site and send subscribers there.

Plus, you can include other information (for instance offers) on the web site.

If you're selling a small report or ebook, that feature could be useful in attaching the file as a protected pdf file instead of sending them to a download page.

I have used it before and it works as it says it does. However I rather put the PDFs in a directory of the site so that they spend the time on my site readying the information and they can download it from there as well.

Some great points here. I think everyone generally agrees you're better off using download pages and such, rather than attaching information.

Seems like quite a pointless feature to me tbh, I can't beleive that there would be many people that regulalry use it.

Gotta cater to everyones needs though I suppose!

I use it for my PLR site. Subscribers to my list get free articles and a free PLR report for signing up. The content is delivered with the first message they receive after confirming their email.

I've used it to distribute an ebook to my list, but in most cases you're much better off having the reader click a link to download it from your website.
