Hello warriors
I am trying to flip one of my blogs but I am having problems editing the theme. I am presently using Revolution Lifestyle 2.0 by Brian Gardner but for some reasons my articles would not show on the home page. Does any one know how I can do it ?? The blog is How To Clear Up Acne

    Have you set your blog to show posts on the front page and not static?

    With the Revolution themes, you have to manually edit the home.php file to include the categories you want showing.

    There's 3 sections, left, right and bottom. You need to add the Category ID number and how many posts you want showing for each category.

    Hope that makes sense.

    Feel free to ask if you want me to give you more details (just in a rush!)

    @JayXtreme thanks, I have done that but it would not work.

    @newton I am in the index.php area but I don't know what to edit. Can you explain further?

    PM sent.

    You need to edit the home.php file not the index.php file.

      If you add the proper category id then it will work.

      To find the categories I go to manage>category

      I will right click on the category name. Go to properties I will see:

      http://site.com/wp-admin/categories....edit&cat_ID=22

      Category ID is 22.

      Add this to the line where you want the posts shown on your home.php. Should look something like this:

      <?php $recent = new WP_Query("cat=22&showposts=4"); while($recent->have_posts()) : $recent->the_post();?>

      The show posts will list how many posts you want to have on the front page. I have it set to show 4 posts. You can set whatever you want. Sometimes there is an offset=. This is so you don't have to show the first post. Instead you can show 2nd post or any other post that is next in line like start showing 3rd or 4th post etc.

      Should not need to edit index.php
