attention grabbing headlines - any advice.

Hi, I have a product about the recession that is soon to be released. I was thinking about at a good headline. So far the best I have is:

Revealed: The Best ways to help you survive the worst financial crisis since the Wall Street Crash!

Any ideas? Improvements? Anything is greatly appriciated!

People skim... If I was skimming your headline as a potential customer I think the most powerful hook (using what you have already) is making "Survive" and "Wall Street Crash" stand out more than the rest. I wouldn't have read anything in between on first glance until I was hooked further by the next thing that naturally caught my eye underneath the headline somewhere in your sales letter. That's just me- others may see things differently. Phil

Go signup for a bunch of email lists and look at the subject lines of the emails they send out. Some of these guys are masters of copy writing.

I think "Revealed: The Best ways to help you survive the worst financial crisis since the Wall Street Crash!" is too long wordy.

Maybe something like "10 Secrets to Actually Profit in a Recession"

        Thanks, Nick

        Actually, I cheated

I have a little program that helps you to create headlines. You plug in the blanks and it spits out a bunch of samples. I modified and merged a few. So I can't take all the credit.

    Good one Gorilla...

"Strugling mom beats the system and fires boss... "

"Blue collar worker says making money is easy?..."

These are not great and I'm not recommending you to use them but a stronger hook would be nice to sell to me.

Just off the top of my head. Everyone already knows that the economy is bad. I personally wouldn't want to be reminded in a headline for something I want to buy. Maybe other people would disagree.

ok. I suppose you are right. But two points:

      1. My main target audience is NOT people who are used to IM and buying online

      2. There are no 'secrets', or 'cheats' in my book. Just solid down-to-earth, friendly advice.

So where do I go from here. This is what I have so far:

"Want to know The Best methods to help you survive the worst financial crisis since the Wall Street Crash?

Here's How You Can Not Only Survive But Thrive During The Current Financial Crisis..."
