IM Report - $17 or $27

Hi Guys

I have a 30 page report I am selling so about to start contacting affiliate but not sure if to put it as $17 or $27

Reason being, i have a few videos to go with it but not enough yet to have an upsell

I want to test the water first, get a conversion rate before expanding it

So basically whoever buys it gets free access for now

The question is, do i put it as $17 or $27 and Im thinking of the affiliate as I want them to get the best deal as possible until the upsell is available

Cheers Everyone

Rob

    It depends.

As you know, affiliates want to make as much money as possible. So to speak, they'd be pleased by having a higher commission.

The question, is if you are able to add enough value to your product, in order to pay the higher price by your customers. You know the value of your product and the wants of your buyers.

    So, test, test, test.

If my product would be quite unique and I'd give every devices help to sell, then I'd go on the higher price route at first. Then I'd modify as needed.

    All the best,

    Sandor

    Hi Rob,

I recommend you to test your product for $17. You can give 100% to your affiliates, then offer a $37 upsell as one time offer (0% for affiliates, 100 for you). About 40% will buy your OTO.

If your conversion is 1%, for 1000 people who see your offer (sent from your affiliates), you will have 10 sales (10 x $17 = $170 for your affiliates, but 10 people on your list) and 4 OTO sales (4 x $37 = $148 for you).

    I wish you success,
    Georgia.

You might even want to start at $7 to get a lot of sales up front. Then get some testimonials on there, polish it up a little, and then raise the price.

I fought the same idea in my head when I was making my first few products... I wanted to charge a higher price at first because of all the work I had put in. But, a buyer lead added to your list can be worth a lot more than the extra $10 or $20 upfront... so if you can add more through a lower price upfront, that makes you more money in the long run. Not to mention if your product rocks and people got it for $7, they will always be a big fan of yours.

      Great Stuff

Thankyou very very much to all of you

The main thing that bugged me is the money for affiliates, why would an affiliate wish to promote before the upsell is in place etc...

Anyway, hearing your views is always a great motivator!

      love it )

      Very much appreciated

Georgia, question for you if thats ok..

Why 0% for affiliates on the upsell?

I thought having 50/50 on the upsell like Lee Mcentrye does would motivate affiliates more and more?

or did you mean, until i have the upsell 100% complete and raise the price again then add the 50/50

        Many Thanks

Rob, I understand that you want to make your offer as compelling for affiliates as possible. You also have to take care of yourself. Are you going to be happy doing all the work once the visitor arrives, and only get half of what you make on the upsell or OTO?

If you can honestly say yes, go for it. But before you say yes, run the numbers and see how much you would make per sale and per visitor.

I can tell you that, for myself speaking as an affiliate, I have no problems trading the 100% upfront commission for 0% on the OTO if the dollars per visitor sent is right.

$27 converts better than $17 in my experience.

$47 dont convert well as $67... and

$67 converts the same as $97.

    $127 dont convert well.

$197 converts just as well as $97.

    Hope that helps

Cheers Loz, interesting!!! very interesting! especially the $27..

John - I was in a line of thinking that $17 was to low , but yeah id happily offer 100%. Although a few $17 sales per day from whoever affiliates are promoting soon adds up anyway

Thanks for sharing John, both of you

With respect, are you saying this is the same for all niches, no matter what you're selling?

Also, assuming $27 is better than $17, $197 is the next best price...as $197 converts just as well as $97, which converts the same as $67, which converts better than $47.

So according to that, the OP would be best off selling the 30 page book for $197 (or $97/$67 - same results)...or $27.

I'm not sure how this helps the OP decide how much to sell the book for.

Will you be launching the report in the WF? Personally I would suggest $17 if you are toying with the thoughts of choosing between $17 and $27.

If you are doing it in the WF, why not consider using WSO Pro and run a dime sale format, starting from $7 for fast action takers and increase price after a certain number of sales up to your maximum price point, in this case $17.

To get more buyer leads should be the main objective (at least for me) rather than to earn as much money from your sales.

Just chipping in with my 2 cents.

    Cheers,
    Lester

    You should test it.
    There are a few options.
Selling at $17 with 100% commission for your affiliates and an upsell at $97 or something.
Or selling at $29.97 with 75% commission.

Are you a newbie who wants to kickstart your sales ASAP?
Do you have a killer product but lack the cash to hire a top-notch copywriter to help you rake in the profits you deserve?

I think it depends on where you're selling your product. Different forums have different price points that convert better.

You need to test the two prices. Just because you sell something at a higher cost doesn't mean you'll make more money. You can sell it at $17 and sell more units. However, affiliates always like making more money. Test all aspects and see which one is more profitable for you.

I just launched my first WSO almost 2 weeks ago. So I did tons of research here and bought a few products on launching WSO's before I priced it. I also spoke to a few warriors that had experience selling WSO's so I ended up starting at $7 and going up to $16 using the dime sale with Warrior Plus.

A few big warrior affiliates picked it up in the first week and sold over 150+ copies each. They made on average $1,200-$1,400 in 24 hours for just sending out 1 email. So I would assume that they are happy to sell a product under $20.
