Can I use my article after I've posted on WF?

Hi - need a bit of advice here, as I don't want to miff big G by falling foul of duplicate content rules etc.

Last week I responded to a question on WF about whether you can start an IM business with no money.

In the process after answering, it dawned on me that the reply may be good enough to post on one of my newbie blogs, preferably without too much faffing around.

I know I could use it on WF or an article directoryafter I had published it as a post, but can I do it the other way around?

Hope that makes sense.

I don't want to fall foul of plagiarism accusations.

You're confusing "duplicate content" with "syndicated content", Alan.

You won't, if you don't plagiarise.

The worst that can happen, if you do things this way round, is that in the long run your own site may (and probably will) get a little less value from that content than if you'd published it and had it indexed there first. That's all. No harm done - and certainly no "penalties" because it isn't "duplicate content".

Just in case anyone else is as confused by that sentence as I am:

The only place articles belong in this forum is in the (paid) Article Forum. Anything that looks like an article will be deleted from other sections.

(Not saying you were going to do that, just trying to clarify for anyone reading this.)

      Hi Ken

Posting an article wasn't my intention at all. It's just that my advice became so elaborate that it prompted me to turn it into a post retrospectively. There were no links or anythingin it, just text.

      Is that OK?

no of course not. you will not be affected by plagiarism. cause both of them are your property and you can do whatever you want with your property. Right ?

If you made the post and you want to put it on your site, that isn't the slightest problem. Go ahead and do it.

Forums and sites go hand in hand. I have quite a few pages up that started out as a forum post. One of them got attacked on a mickey mouse forum, (not this one) and had about 30 responses to the topic. I don't believe a single one of them liked the idea, but I did. I added all the details on how to do the topic with a web page, and it still gets a very steady stream of searches each month.

Forums are neat inspiration for topics and writing.

Don't post the same content on WF and your site cause google will see it as a duplicate content...

      Hi Simon

That seems to conflict with what everyone else's saying
