Hi,

I plan on offering my seo services to web site owners who are
deep down in Google's results for their main keyword.

How can I make sure I get paid after I get them a top ten ranking in Google.

Ummmm...upfront.

There's no reason you should think about having any other kind of payment here. They pay you upfront, you deliver.

Perhaps what you should be asking is how to refund them if it doesn't work....what kind of guarantee you should have.

Couldn't you use some kind of escrow system that manages that for you?

I think I need to prove myself first & trust them to pay me and then get
some references under my belt.

Then I plan on setting up a newsletter & email capture form on their website
after they pay me for the top ten listing.

How would you guys word the first letter to send to the business owners
for doing this, I'm not the best copywriter by far.

If this is a new thing you're working on, you'll want to gather some case studies and testimonials. Offer your service for free to 10 Warriors, get video testimonials and record results with Camtasia.

It's just getting websites a top ten ranking in Googleand getting paid for doing it.

You are in over your head by promising that kind of performance. Why not do the optin email capture form and newsletter first. Getting a top ten listing in Google is transient at best, and you will never get paid a dime with your business model.
