What does it take to get quality affiliates?

Hello,

My partner and I have an invention that has been out for about a year. It is a Paint Roller Cover Cleaner. The site paintrifuge was completely done by me. While I know how to design and code a website, I have almost zero experience in the marketing side. Right now, the only marketing we are doing is local radio ads.

The website is using e-junkie for the shopping cart. Not so sure I like the look and feel of e-junkie, but it's cheap and has affiliate tracking built in. I have no experience with affiliates either. Is e-junkie a good software to be using or is there another route I should be taking?

There is a good size profit margin in our product and we are willing to share a large percentage. Right now, I am trying to make the website "affiliate friendly". Can anyone point me in the right direction? Or am I just totally off base?

Basically, I need a way to get more quality traffic that convert into sales.

Thanks for any info...

Perhaps it would be worthwhile to hire an affiliate manager to spend their time finding and recruiting affiliates. Some companies offer this service. It may be a limited market though. In the meantime, perhaps PPC and article marketing would be a good idea.

I would look for home improvement bloggers and invite them to join the affiliate program via a contact form on their sites. If it is a tiered system and they are allowed to recruit additional affiliates for compensation, I would tell them that, too. Good luck!

Looks like a great product. I can identify with washing the roller under water for ages trying to clean it.

    I think it's brilliant!

As for affiliates, I personally don't like ejunkie as I find it a pain to navigate.

If I were you, I would be adding an "affiliates" link to your footer with details of your affiliate program, plus banners, plus email copy that people can use.

    Hi,
According to my knowledge and experience in internet marketing field article writing is the best idea. Write articles related to your product and give information in those articles. It is observed that quality articles are helpful for you in gaining interest of people.

It's very simple... Copy the guru. Check out what top selling product owner do to make selling a product. Take a look at clickbank for instance, they provide their affiliates with good sales letter that convert, they give follow up letter, banner ad,e.t.c So what do you have to support your affiliates? This require a marketing expert to do so do a jv with one or pay them off after the marketing machine is built. Just my two scent... See ya

I love the product, I'd definitely buy one.

As for affiliates - you definitely need an affiliate section on your website. I didn't see one, unless I'm missing it somewhere. - Also - maybe try selling it through Amazon. They already have a network of affiliates, and I know that a product like this one would be a good cookie setter for some amazon affiliate.

Plus have you already pitched it to your local hardware stores? The best way by far to get affiliates is by selling a lot yourself first. The affiliates will find you if you're making money.
