I don't think it's a site, he wants the domain valuation.

I've no idea what it's worth but I must admit, in front of the right person, with those searches and the age, it looks a good domain to me.

      Hey Spearce,

It's just a domain URL - NO website!

It's only worth what someone will pay - there's no intrinsic value so you should probably try advertising it or offering it to people who might care about it.

    Colie3188,
Andy is right...it's only worth what a buyer will pay. I'd look at approaching the tv broadcasters in the the uk that show cricket and also the betting firms.
You could also offer to lease the domain to them on a monthly basis.

One thing that has just hit me...

We've not long ago had the Cricket World Cup.

May I politely suggest, the next time you notice that you have that domain and the sport has it's biggest four yearly event, you consider selling it then, if of course you want to sell it

Next World Cup is in 2015 if that helps

    Thanks for that Richard

I'll keep that in mind next time, that would be a GREAT selling point indeed.

The problem with developing your domain is that the domain cricketlive.com is owned by ESPN, a fairly large sports corporation, and was first registered in 1999. Any marketing you (or a future owner) might do will likely benefit the .com domain much more.

Your best bet would be to approach them and see if they'd like the .co.uk

        Hey Frank,

Can you tell me why exactly if I develop the .co.uk it would benefit the .com? From my experience in SEO, this is the first time I've heard anything like this. Do you care to elaborate, please?

        Thanks

          Sure.

Marketing isn't only about SEO. Developing the domain will also entail an element of branding, which typically might involve stand alone advertising, social media campaigns etc.

The .com is still most people's default type-in. If you succeed in getting the name CricketLive into the minds of your target market, a lot of them are going to assume the site is a .com when they come to look it up; especially when you consider that cricket is a world-wide sport.

This is a problem if the .com is also your competitor and an established, major player in the exact market you're trying to attack, as a great chunk of your marketing effort will be dissipated by boosting the hits to the .com.
