what other sites can i use to set up as a buffer site, so that i can directly get links to them, and not to my direct site?

or maybe it's only web2.0 page? what's so special about web2.0, and what exactly are they?

which is the best?

i've heard the sites can take down your pages, if you use this method though... please advice!

You can have blog on Blogspot.com , Blog on Wordpress.com and then page at Squidoo and Hub at Hubpages. I think they are good sources to set secondary sites for your products and services.

Yes these sites take down those blogs or lens of pages time to time which they find
low quality or violtaing their TOS and Policies.

Mohsin is right - there are THOUSANDS of blogging platforms that will let you add a blog for free to them.

From my experience, Hubpages is stricter than squidoos!

Yes, i agree to that, these people have just set up new rules to create a hub.
They dont let you give links to your websites through hubs.

If you do so, then first of all your hub is sent for revision and if you dont remove the links, then the hub gets unpublished..

So eventually you have to delete the hub and create a new one, without any links, so you can imagine how strict they are.

go to ping.fm and see the list of properties they autopost to, you will find some microblogging and social bookmarking, the rest are blog-like platforms (or communities with blogs inside).

One that was not mentioned here (or maybe i didn´t see it) that is pretty good is weebly.com

another option that is working nice for me is to find ning communities in my niche and use their blogs. I also take part in the communities and create relationships inside. If you are more on the spamming side, you will not last long in them. In the personal pages you have space for some html, I´m promoting one of my ebooks from there. And you have the possibility of adding an rss feed in most of them, so you have additional backlinks in autopilot.
