okay I want to try promoting a clickbank product through email, I have a list and I want the subject line not to sound spam-ish, and possible the body to sell the product as best as it can. Does anyone know some good tips for me? I know I can find more about this by buying things but I am not making any money right now so I am hoping that someone can provide me with free infomation.

I can second the recommendation to get on Furey's list. He also released
an email copy course a few years ago that was priced at close to a thousand.

On the matter of templates, I would caution you against using them. The reason
has everything to do with your market and the people on your list. You could
easily use a template that may not be appropriate for communicating with your
      particular audience.

I'd suggest you do demographics research for that product to start. Then you
could research similar products/sites targeting that market and audience. Study
the copy and look for patterns, similarities in how they talk to them.

Then, use that info to write your emails.

It doesn't have to be fancy, it just has to get their attention. You say you have a list, doesn't that mean they're used to getting emails from you?

Kind of a hard subject to boil down to a few sentences. There are plenty of marketers' lists you can get on without spending a dime. Get on Matt Furey's list, or Tellman Knudson's lists, or any marketer whose products or approach you like.

Then when they send you emails, take note of which subject lines you like -- the ones that grab your attention and would get you to open the email even if you're weren't expecting it and weren't sure who it was from.

That's a short answer to get you started, anyway.

Get on Hubspots mailing list - they do some great training and have some very good educational material. It has been leaning toward social marketing recently but they just did a webinar about 2 months ago (I think) about email marketing.

A lot of it has to do with what you have already sent to your list... what do they expect from you? Content? Promotions?

It's always best to give your subscribers as much content as possible (usually related to the product you're promoting) and just weave your promotion into it... "I found a really cool resource that explains how to do [topic] better than anyone else!"

I guess I didn't really answer your question...

As far as the subject line goes... just get them to open the email. That's the job of the subject line.

Use curiosity, pain, whatever it takes to get it opened.

If your list knows you, include your name and a catchy title. This way they understand that it's not spam.

    Hello!

    ... Just one quick tip!

I have noticed that top Internet Marketers when sending emails never fill a line of text completely. What I mean, is that to encourage people to read the entire email, it only fills half of the reading email pane. A bit like this:

    Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet,
    consectetur adipiscing elit.
Ut vel leo est. Morbi aliquam
    semper lacus, eu molestie

    Instead of this:

Sed sed turpis est, dictum vulputate orci. Vestibulum ullamcorper tincidunt orci, nec hendrerit lacus pharetra et. Sed ullamcorper, felis non ullamcorper eleifend, turpis metus sollicitudin erat, rhoncus fringilla urna orci hendrerit

    I hope this makes sense

Building a good relationship with your list members is the key to a successful email business. This happens after a series of emails that emit your personality and what you have to offer. Once people get to know you, they will recognize your personality in subject lines and content. Start using templates and your list will see right through that.

    Ken mentioned Tellman Knudsen's list.

Do a Google search for "list building", which goes hand in hand with email marketing, and you'll see that Tellman's squeeze page comes up #1 on the front page. So to second Ken's suggestion, Tellman knows his stuff. I'd study what he does. --Mike

To get the reader's attention, you should have a catchy e-mail subject. You may include statistics, numbers, and powerful words to entice the reader to open your email.

There is some great advice here. I would definitely recommend making a note of 10 or more of the most eye-catching subject titles coming in to your list email inbox and analyse what made you look twice.

I "talk" to my list in the same way that I would talk to them in person. Build a relationship, be yourself, don't just sell sell sell. Send them good info and put your personality into the email.

If your style is more laid back and honest, then convey that in your email subject lines.
Honestly tell your list why they should open the email or make the subject line short, but un-spammy. Here's an example:

spammy, but acceptable... "Wow, this thing is powerful!"

Less spammy, more of an honest tone... "My latest ebook shows you a powerful tactic- take a look..."

It all boils down to your own personality, writing style and what you feel comfortable with. Just be yourself and remember not to tell too much in the subject line. Afterall, your goal is to get them to open your email.

Here's something I like to do to find great subject lines...

Write the email FIRST--without thinking of a subject line. Get your body copy in order so it flows well, reads easily, and leads the reader effortlessly to the link(s). Then go back through your copy and look for something that jumps off the page at you. Might be a few words, a phrase, or a short sentence. But it needs to POP (you'll know it when you see it).

Grab that and toss it up into your subject line. Mold and shape as needed. Mail and make $$$.

I do this all the time and it works. Because if it pops out at you, then it will pop out at your audience.
