If You Don't See The Value, Rethink Your Thinking

How much are your products or services worth to others?

You may be surprised.

But if you undervalue what you offer, so will everyone else...

When I was in my early 20's, I did a telemarketing job. We sold something that I personally considered of little value, but prospects were lining up to pay $495 for it.

At first, I barely made any money...

Then I had a revelation...

I was talking to a young man on the phone.

He was pre-sold on the offer (yes, it was inbound calls)...

He was explaining to me the excitement he had in the product we offered... He told me the value that he would receive using the product...

In that moment, I realized that the value I saw in the product was meaningless...

What mattered is the value that customers saw in the product...

Who cares what value I placed in the product? So long as my prospects could see the value, who am I to convince them not to buy?

Value is in the eye of the beholder, and as long as I was giving a level of value my customer expected, then I should not feel bad for selling the product or service.

If people wanted to spend $495 to purchase that thing I did not want, who cares? They wanted it, and they thought it would be worth $495 to them.

Once I made the decision to let people judge value in a way that they wanted to judge value, then my reservations in the sales process evaporated.

That came in handy when I was selling cars... I could not justify spending $30,000 on a car, but my customers had no such reservations.

So I stepped aside and let them buy those things that I would never buy, because my job was to facilitate the sale, not to decide for them what was a good investment of THEIR money.

That is why I always say that Fiverr is great to buy services from, not offer them.
