A modest goal of $75/day. How to do it?

I have around 5 spare hours everyday - more at the weekends. I'm happy to use those hours to provide some sort of service as I need money now, rather than investing for something in the future, and I'm not looking to get rich quick or anything like that. All I want is a consistent and reliable side-income. Even part-time, work-at-home employment. I don't necessarily possess internet marketing skills, but I'm very tech-savvy and can pretty much do anything once shown how it's done. Does anyone have any opportunities available (not the sort I have to pay for first - that's not what I'm looking for), or have any ideas of how I can fulfill this goal? I'm open to any ideas. It just has to take into account my time restrictions, which aren't too bad anyway, and has to have the ability to be done purely online/through my laptop. Thanks everyone for your help.

    Hey, that is a very good goal. $75 is an easy target to reach. You could sell as an affiliate, i sell a product for $55 commission so two sales would have that. If you can offer some type of service, then put a classified ad on this forum. You should get to that total pretty easily. Trick is find a method that works and then ramp it up. Soon you will be looking at that amount per hour, Good Luck

      hi, can you write articles or do graphics for ebooks or dvd covers as a way to make money, also check out a site called fiverr.com if you need to get some experience before charging full price or elance.com if you are more experienced. Hope this helps, Mike.

      I tried selling some products as affiliate and can't sell single product for a over a month now. I am not sure if my strategy (that I am aware of such as blog commenting) is good enough. How do you promote yours? in blog? and what types of service do you mean? our own products? (don't even know how to create one)

        If the OP is technically inclined, doing blog set up (especially together with unique content, custom graphics and headers) would likely generate some quick payments straight to his Paypal. He can offer these services individually, and also bundled into several packages, and he would have no shortage of clients especially if his work is of high quality.

      Howie, unless you're personally handing out those flyers in coffee shops, you'll be making a nuisance out of yourself and generating very little (if any) money from them.

        I have tried offline promotion. The reason hardly anyone does it is because it doesn't work at all. You could have a huge billboard on the side of the highway with your website domain on it. The problem is people have to remember it, and care enough to go to the website. It is so much easier to get people to buy who are already online. Probably only .00001 percent of the people looking at your offline advertising is ever going to care.

        Go for internet marketing, PPC, Microsoft Ad Center to drive traffic to your targeted site.

    set yourself up to answer questions about a product you are an affiliate for.

    example:

    say you want to sell $1000 cannon cameras

    you set up a site
    you put a form where people can ask you questions about the camera
    you answer questions
    then at the bottom of your answer you say "by the way... i found a great price and package on the camera for you at XYZ camera shop" get the camera there and ill hook
    you up with some cool videos on how to use it.

    One of the fastest ways to make money in the world is by purchasing the resell rights to a product. You would then keep 100% of the sales you generate. Or you could just become an affiliate for someone else's product.

    If you make 25 per sale, it would take 3 sales per day to meet your goal. Let's say your conversion rate was 1%. This means for every 100 visitors, you get one sale. You would only need to drive roughly 300 visitors to make those sales.

        20 per week is a lot to do them properly. You'd be much better creating 2-3 per week and charging more. You might not hit $75 initially but it will grow over time

    There are bunch of ways to make that goal but hey, you should be very carefull with that. I mean if you try this or that money making system out there you will end up with frustration. And it's of course not good!

    So if you have time, build your own business.
    Make a squeeze page
    find something free to offer
    drive traffic by using free methods
    build your list
    that's it, you are there!

      There are many ways to do this. If you are looking to build a long term online business then you can setup content websites on hot niches & make money but as you already have your goal & you have your mind heading that way, I will suggest:

      Offer your services on this forum or any freelancer website (Fiverr or similar sites where you can offer your service for a fixed price can be a good choice for you).

      Yes you can make money by being an affiliate of a product but if you are going to put 5 hours into it then I will suggest that make sure you do affiliate marketing properly so that you can build a long term income not just $75 per day.

    Traffic---->Squeeze page---->OTO---->follow up w/ great content and offers.


    Simple. All you need to do is pick a market, figure out how to work each step then put it/them in place and you'll surpass your goal. The more you traffic you pump in, and the more you optimize each point (as well as expand to add new points) in the above process, the better you will keep doing.

    Also, don't make it harder than it really is. The above process is simple and it works. Try it and see. That's the best advice I can give you.

    So you're looking to make around $15/hour for your time, right? ($75/day for 5 hours a day...with a little extra time put in on the weekend)

      Great Point!! This reminds of the saying that people who set their goal to: "I just want to make enough money to pay off my bills" are really setting their standards low and hardly ever become truly financially independent. Sometimes it's good to go beyond being modest and set your goals high. Your goals should instead be "I want to make enough money to where I can quit my current job and eventually become a balla $$$$".....lol, you get the point

    For $75/day I'd go down one of two routes. Either affiliate market somebody elses product or create your own if you have a niche interest that you're very knowledgeable about and get others to sell for you.

    Starting out, you could offer a service that you are good at, such as content creation or web design. If you are fast at writing, you could be making $40-50 in the beginning, writing for $10 per article. Once you have clients and feel the need to raise your rates, you could do so and earn even more to meet the $75/day goal.

    Another idea is affiliate marketing, as you could earn 50-75% commissions on products you sell through your special links. Target higher priced items so you can sell less and make more. Clickbank is a great place to find products to promote. In many niches you would only need 2-3 sales per day to make $75.

    when offering a service, break down your work on each project by the hour. It will give you a strong idea of if it is worth it. $75 a day in an 8 hour day is around 9 bucks an hour. Now if it's a service you can do in 2-3 hours and make $75 bucks, you are ahead of the game. Always keep the hourly cost in mind, it will help you not sell yourself short on your time when providing a service.

    One idea that I haven't seen mentioned is helping local businesses with their online presence. Check out the Offline Marketing forum for ideas. It can be difficult to land clients for big projects at first, but you can start small and work your way up.

    You may want to consider learning SEO because once ya get a niche site or Web 2.0 site like Squidoo or HubPages ranked to the top of Google for a competitive term, it will bring ya consistent traffic and sales.

    Your first few tries might be hit and miss until you find a profitable niche, but once ya find a winner, you'll probably be making much more than $75/day.

    Make sure to look for a niche with lots of pain/emotion like "Stop Cat Peeing" or "Get Rid Of Bed Bugs" or "Cure Tooth Ache" just as a few ideas.

    For learning SEO, the best resource would either be this forum or Bring The Fresh wit Kelly Felix an Mike Long if ya got a few dollars to blow.
