1ShoppingCart Users - We are not "seller protected" with Paypal!

I just had a week long discussion back and forth with Paypal and 1shoppingcart. Did you know that 1ShoppingCart users are NOT covered under Paypal's "seller protection"? This is a BIG problem.

What does it mean? Anytime Paypal does a random audit on a sale through 1ShoppingCart, you will LOSE regardless of any proof of shipment or BUYER CONFIRMATION/CALL to Paypal!

1ShoppingCart MUST send shipping info. to Paypal in order for us to be protected. Can all 1ShoppingCart users PLEASE let them know we want this so we'll stop losing money on Paypal purchases?

I was told by 1sc we have to post it on their site to suggest it: We MUST be "Seller Protected" in Paypal!!

Thanks all! I hope they listen to us or else we need to move to another shopping cart ASAP!!

I didn't realise that, when I was using 1sc there were a few times that PP reversed a transaction, I realise why now. (I just used to assume it was a suspicious transaction).

Did they say why users are not protected Jenn

I had to go through a few people at 1shoppingcart until I finally got the answer. We are not protected because 1SC doesn't send shipping information to Paypal. I've had a number of transactions reversed this year and every time the buyer contacted them and said it was their charge, yet NOTHING you can do or prove to Paypal is good enough if 1SC continues to NOT send shipping info.

1SC is aware of this but I was just told to post that in their suggestions/ideas page. Hopefully someone will see it and realize its a BIG deal to us! Not only in lost money but my customers were REALLY confused as to what was going on!!

Thanks for responding, I was hoping there were other 1SC users who would want this to happen too so we can be protected with Paypal Seller Protection!

That is really surprising that 1SC wouldn't take care of something as important as this right away. I assume they haven't done anything just because many users are not aware of the problem. Like Kim, others probably assumed the reversed transactions truly were illegitimate. Paypal doesn't exactly have the best record of helping customers either. So really I wouldn't be surprised if they had some kind of agreement regarding this.

Yes, that is what I'm finding out...we never knew so no one has brought it up to 1SC! I just knew that a few transactions were legit since my buyers were actually emailing Paypal to find out what was going on before they contacted me about it...my buyers thought they did something wrong and felt really bad about it.

I had to go through a few people at 1SC and Paypal but it comes down to 1SC needs to send shipping info. They already send billing info I was told, so it should be an easy thing to add on the shipping info too. Just need to get the word out so it actually happens and we can be protected. I hate seeing not Seller Protected on every Paypal email I get!! And I finally know why and what we can do about it!

      Hello All,

Thanks for brining this to our attention JennSpencerIM. We are very sorry that it took you so long to get to the bottom of the issue.

Know that you have provided us with this information we are going to respond as quickly as possible. We will be releasing an update in our next release (June 19th) that will allow the Shipping information to be sent to PayPal when using WebPayments Pro and Express Checkout. Providing you do not hide the "Ship To" fields from your order form, you should have to do nothing to make this work as of June 19th.

Thank you again and please feel free to reply to me with any questions you may have.

Thanks for being a 1ShoppingCart customer, we do truly appreciate your business.

      Regards,
