password protect directories?

I have one of my outsourcers that completed a website and I want hi mto upload it to my server but I only want to give him access to one particular domain in 1 folder. How can I go about doing this?

      I don't know if that's possible, unless everything else is password protected, as you will probably need to give him your admin name and password for him to upload, so he will have access to everything.

      I usually give a designer a user and password for a limited period and as soon as the site is up, I change the user and password.

    Do you use HostGator?

    If so just log into your admin and go to ftp accounts. Set up a temp and tell it which folder to allow access to. When it's uploaded, just disable it.

    If you're using someone else for hosting you will probably have a similar feature.
