Can you redirect domains to Amazon links?

I am thinking of promoting Amazon products through some video traffic I am getting, but would like to just buy a domain to redirect to a corresponding Amazon affiliate link. Is this permissible?

I did a little test with a sub domain and ran it through their link checker and it came out OK, but am not sure if redirecting is against their TOS.

    Hello There,

You can redirect your domain to Amazon but you would get zero commissions because Amazon.com does not allow PPC. I hope it would help you.

    Thanks!!

Domain redirects are fine (and you will get commissions), as long as you're not breaking any other rules.

This is not correct. They allow PPC as long as the ad directs to your own site not Amazon.

The OP was not asking about doing a redirect from a PPC ad anyway.

Technically yes. But the real question, is should you.
You should first warm up your potential buyers for the sale, then send them to the product page. This way you've already done the pre-sell and they will be more inclined to buy.

It's permissible Michael but it's not really worth it because you won't be able to get any commissions from them. The only effect of doing this is getting products be advertised but that's it, no commissions.

agreed, your not really offering the customer anything otherwise. Id put together a review site of some sort, do the upsell and maybe capture leads to, then push your affiliate link with each review.

I've always had quick responses to questions like these by contacting Amazon support.

Always ask the source before doing anything. Even when you buy a wso.

I have lost my ebay partner account and my adsense accounts following what other people have told me was fine to do. Always verify directly before doing anything, no matter how simple it may seem.

I do not see why I would not be credited with a sale because it goes to my Amazon supplied product affiliate link and when I checked the test redirect with their link checker ( https://affiliate-program.amazon.com...cker/main.html ) it says my affiliate details are available for tracking or something like that.

Plus the VIDEO does the presell, and besides, the ONLY people who see this video are already interested in the product ($1000+ product).

We can speculate all we want, but this isn't really something that's a matter of opinion. Why not just look at Amazon's own Terms of Service?

In their terms of service, Amazon refers to affiliate links as "Special Links."

      From Amazon's terms:

"...a "Qualifying Purchase" occurs when (a) a customer clicks through a Special Link on your site to the Amazon Site..."

The customer must CLICK on a link on your site. If you are redirecting the domain, then users are not clicking on a "special link" on your site, which means that in Amazon's eyes, the click does not generate a "qualifying purchase."

Now, whether Amazon would actually catch you at this is a whole other story.
